If you’re reading this, it’s your lucky day. Why you ask? Because I’m going to share with you what I’m sure will become you’re new “go-to” for potlucks and gatherings of all types. It’s easy, it’s cheap, and everyone will love it! It’s a little bit of a twist on your traditional fruit salad, and once you try it, you’ll never go back. One of the coolest things about this Snickers Salad recipe, is that you literally only need three ingredients to make it work and at the end of the day, you can really adapt it to your liking (maybe you hate Snickers but you love Almond Joy — take the leap and mix it up)! At a minimum you need:
- Cool Whip (the number of containers will really depend on how many servings you’ll need – I estimate about 6 per small container)
- Full Size Snickers Bars (I usually get about two snickers per container of cool whip – you can use more or less depending on your own taste and you’ll want to factor in that you’ll eat at least 1/2 a candy bar while making this. These will be cut up into bite size pieces)
- Apples (I use two apples per small container of cool whip. You’ll want to core and slice them into bite size pieces.)
Once the fruit and chocolate bars are cut up, simply mix them all together in a large bowl, stick it in the refrigerator until you’re ready to serve, and you are done! Potluck obligation fulfilled!
Like I mentioned before though, you can use a different candy bar if you’re not a fan of Snickers or maybe somebody has a nut allergy. You can also use different fruits if you want (strawberries, chocolate, and Cool Whip anybody!). You can pretty much tailor this to your own taste and so far, everyone I’ve served it too has always come back for seconds. It really is one of the easiest dishes I’ve come across so feel free to whip a bowl up for all those Summer barbecues!
Will you be using this recipe for any upcoming gatherings? What’s your favorite dish to whip up for a party or barbecue? Let me know in the comments below and thanks for reading!
