Halloween is a big deal at our place. Hubby absolutely loves it and I remember being so excited to dress up every year growing up. This year we’re actually flying out to go visit family in Texas on Halloween so it’s going to be weird not doing things the way we always have. I can’t imagine not taking part in all the the regular festivities so we’re likely going to do some of it earlier than usual instead of forego it completely. As far as Trick-or-Treating, we actually booked our flight to arrive early enough so the kiddos would have time to change into their costumes and go visit my parents’ neighborhood. I have a feeling Nana and Papa are going to love it because living so far away, we usually don’t get to spend any holiday with them so this one should be pretty special.
When I said our family LOVES Halloween, I meant the whole family. This is my kiddos, nieces, nephews, and cousins that all came out to Trick-Or-Treat last year. Even the fur-kids get in on the fun!
Dressing up and Trick-Or-Treating on Halloween isn’t the only thing we look forward to though. Halloween is a month long holiday around our place! Beside decorating, planning, and patiently waiting for the big day, there are the activities like pumpkin carving that must be done leading up to the big event!
This year we even added a new activity to the Halloween fun and took the kids out to Chuck E. Cheese so they could check out the #Chucktober2014 activities!! That place is always so much fun and as you can see, everyone had a blast!
What’s even better? You can participate in #Chucktober2014 too! Just upload an Instagram photo or tweet your #Chucktober2014 photo to @chuckecheese and @Jewell5022 by 10/31/2014 for a chance to win awesome prizes including gift cards to Target, Best Buy, and Toys R’ Us! You can also download these awesome activity sheets that include a pumpkin carving pattern and Build a Pumpkin activity! Seriously, the fun doesn’t end once you leave the restaurant — I’m relatively certain that Chucktober will be one of our annual Halloween traditions going forward!
Does your family celebrate Halloween? Are there certain traditions that you participate in every year? Let me know in the comments below and thanks for reading!

October 17, 2014 at 9:16 amWe don’t have any halloween traditions. Our daughter is three, and is now realizing what it actually is, so this is the first year we’re going all out with decorating the house, and I am even going to dress up!
Cute pics of our family.

October 17, 2014 at 5:15 pmIs that a my little pony pumpkin?!? I want one, haha. I love Halloween too! I’m sort of bummed I can’t make it to NY this year for my best friends mother’s Halloween party, they go all out too. It’s so much fun. They’ve even got a spooky hayride. I hope you guys are having a great Friday!
