I can’t believe it’s already the last week of the month and Halloween is in just a few days. I do find it kind of cool that it’s on a Friday this year though. That just means we can enjoy the festivities all weekend long! Yay!! For anyone like me that prefers to enjoy the party rather than spend all of your time cooking or baking for the party, I have a few fun and easy snacks that I’m sure your guests, adults and children alike, will enjoy! So, take of the apron, relax, and enjoy the fun while you serve up some of these deliciously creepy snacks!
MONSTER CANDY CORN MIX
Now, popcorn and candy corn are the foundation to each of these recipes. For the Monster Candy Corn Mix, your ingredient list includes:
- Some Popped Corn
- Colored Chocolate for drizzling
- Candy Corn and Candy Eyes
- I’ve seen versions of this that include Reese’s Puffs cereal, which is cool, but totally optional
There’s no “right” way to mix this up, but you may find that it’s easiest to first drizzle the chocolate over the popcorn and then place the candies in the bowl with a little more chocolate drizzled over the top. If you mix the candy into the popcorn first, the candies do tend to sink to the bottom and they will end up completely covered in chocolate, making them harder to see.
CANDY CORN POPCORN BALLS
Here’s another super easy recipe. Everyone love Popcorn Balls and you really don’t see them much until the fall holidays come around. All you need for these is:
- 1/4 Cup Butter
- Popped Corn
- Mini Marshmallows
- 1/2 tsp. Vanilla
- 1/4 tsp. Salt
- and of course we don’t want to forget the Candy Corn!
What I love about this is that you can totally put this together quickly in the microwave. Just mix the popped corn and candy corns together in a bowl. Melt butter, vanilla, salt, and mini marshmallows in microwave safe bowl. Pour marshmallow mixture over popcorn and candy corn and mix with spoon to coat evenly. Then, with greased hands, form into balls and let cool.
CANDY CORN POPCORN HANDS
This is a creepy little party treat or decoration and all it requires is a plastic glove, candy corn, some popped corn and a string or elastic. Seriously, we don’t even have to melt anything for this one!! Simply place one candy corn to each glove tip and then fill the glove with popcorn. Tie off the end of the glove, so the popcorn doesn’t spill out and you have a creepy little treat for all the ghouls and goblins!
