{I received a complimentary sample of Matcha DNA Green Tea in order to facilitate this review. Opinions are 100% my own and based on my personal experience with the product.}
I have not always been a fan of tea. In fact, truth be told I thought it was absolutely vile until just the last year or so. What changed? I don’t know; maybe my taste buds changed after pregnancy or something. In the last year or so though I have grown to like hot tea (still not a fan of iced tea). Even more so, I’ve been trying a lot of green teas because of the health benefits that are apparently associated with them. That’s why I was super excited when I found out I was going to have the opportunity to try Matcha DNA Green Tea.
When I received it, it was definitely different than anything that I had tried before. For one it is a powered tea, which being the novice tea drinker that I am, I didn’t even realize powdered tea existed. I have since decided that I love powdered tea – you are able to get all the flavor and no grainy tea leaf particles in the bottom of the cup. Fabulous!! Also, I put a little sweetener in everything (tea, coffee, etc.) so while I do add some to my Matcha DNA Green Tea, I did try it without and I can honestly say it is quite smooth and totally drinkable even without the added sweetener if one were to prefer it that way. It’s not bitter and it doesn’t taste like it’s been watered down.
Some other facts about Matcha DNA Green Tea that I found interesting are:
- Matcha DNA Green Tea is Organic
- The powdered form can be used in much more than regular tea (ice cream, latte, or martini anyone?)
- Chinese Origin (not made in Japan)
- High in Antioxidants
