{I received a complimentary Purex® Fels-Naptha laundry bar from Purex Insiders to facilitate my review of the product. As always, my opinions are 100% my own and based on my experience with the product.}
Believe it or not I had never heard of the Fels-Naptha laundry bar prior to receiving it for this review. Well, technically I had heard of it, but as an ingredient in homemade laundry detergent that I had never gotten around to making, so I never had any experience with Fels-Naptha. (FYI: I do plan on making that homemade laundry soap in the near future so I’ll be sure to let you know how that goes.)
So, what does this plain looking little bar of stuff do you ask? Well, for one, it is an awesome stain remover. With two kids (one toddler and one careless boy), multiple dogs, a manual labor worker of a husband, and a horse ranch beyond the backyard, I know stains. A load of laundry wouldn’t be complete without them. As such, I’ve tried every stain remover on the market, or so I thought. I’ve used sprays, stain sticks, pre-treatments, in wash concoctions, and whatever else I could find. They all worked some of the time, but nothing worked all of the time so as you can guess, I had quite the laundry cabinet full of product. To say the least, while other options mostly helped, I was rarely 100% satisfied. You know, things would be wearable again, but if you looked hard enough you could tell there was still a stain in many cases. Good enough, but I’d like better. Well, I think I’ve found the better with the Purex® Fels-Naptha Laundry Bar.
So far I’ve gotten rid of blood, some weird toddler food stain, grass, and red punch. Worst of the worst? No, probably not, but they are pretty common stains that I run in to, and I’m sure you do to. Personally, I’d rather get them out of the clothes than have another “play shirt” for the kids. Purex Laundry Bar is a solid laundry bar that you simply wet and rub on the stain a couple of minutes before washing to tackle even the toughest stains. It smells awesome. It has a fresh, clean, but not sterile or overly fragrant scent. It’s also completely safe on colors and if longevity in the marketplace tells you anything, this has been around for over 100 years, since 1894 to be exact.
What’s even cooler than an awesome stain remover? An awesome stain remover that can pull double (or triple) duty! Purex® Fels-Naptha doesn’t only remove stains, it is great as a laundry booster as well. Simply grate some of the bar into the washer, fill the washer with water, and agitate for several minutes then add clothes. Easy as pie!
