This New Year cleaning resolution tips post is brought to you by Mr. Clean as part of a Type-A Parent Community Sponsored Post.

My second favorite household chore is ironing.  My first being hitting my head on the top bunk bed until I faint.  ~ Erma Bombeck

I don’t know about you, but one of my top priorities this year is getting my house better organized and cleaner! Unfortunately housework seems to be a never ending cycle. You know those pesky “chores” that only get partially done or pushed to the wayside the busier and busier you get? Fortunately for me, I’m going to have some help getting back on track from Mr. Clean Liquid Muscle. Mr. Clean’s Liquid Muscle has power in every drop. It also has an auto-stop cap, so you always dispense the right amount and waste less. Less waste equals money saved and that’s never a bad thing. You can use Mr. Clean Liquid Muscle directly on the mess to clean things like stovetops or counters, or dilute it in water to clean your floors. And because of its triple action formula, each drop packs a bigger punch than you’d expect. It truly is an all purpose solution which means convenience for busy moms and dads. I don’t know about you, but I’m a sucker for convenience! So much so that I’m going to share with you, my fave five tips for making cleaning up a breeze!

5 Tips To Help Muscle Through Your Clean-Up

  • Take care of those nasty high traffic areas first. Kitchens and bathrooms have you throwing in the towel just thinking about it? Muscle through them first. It’s amazing how motivated I get to continue cleaning once I get the dishes and countertops cleaned up – it truly makes all the difference in the world, makes the lesser problematic areas seem like nothing to tackle and gives you the motivation to carry on and get it done.

  • Break down big tasks into smaller ones. This way they don’t seem so overwhelming and if you don’t get the whole house done at once, you’ve still managed to check a few items off of your list which makes you feel like you have accomplished something rather than chalked up another epic fail. I tend to divide the cleaning up into rooms and do just one at a time.

  • Use mutli-purpose products. For instance, Mr. Clean Liquid Muscle can be used in just about every room in the house. Instead of digging out and keeping separate products for the kitchen countertops, appliances, bathrooms, and floors on hand, you can use one product to take care of it all. Save time, save money, save space. Doesn’t get easier than that!

  • Make everyone pitch in. Cleaning isn’t just mom (or dad’s) job – even the smallest members in the household can pitch in. Check one of those rooms off the list by having your tweens take care of their own rooms and maybe they can even pitch in with the laundry. Save your sanity and delegate because every little bit helps.

  • 10 minute pick up. This is actually one of my favorite cleaning tactics because it doesn’t take long and it makes a HUGE difference! When everyone gets home for the evening, the first 10 minutes before everyone gets settled in and off doing their own thing, we all take 10 minutes and pick up the house. Any dishes that were left out, pop cans, laundry on the floor, just anything that can quickly be picked up and put where it belongs. You’d be amazed at how much cleaner the whole place seem after just a few minutes of family collaboration.

Grab your Liquid Muscle, give some of these tips a try and let me know what you think!

I hate cleaning. Really, I am not good at it and for that reason I have a housekeeper. But this could be used by her! Stopping by from SITS FB group!

I’ve always wanted a housekeeper but so far my wish hasn’t been granted, but you’re right Mr. Clean Liquid Muscle would probably be a great product for yours to try out. May just make her job cake! Thanks for stopping by!

Ugh! So not a fan of kitchens and bathrooms. I do have a habit of waiting until the end to clean those two. I’ve definitely got to work on divvying up chores between me and my husband. It seems he pulls a Houdini everytime it’s time for him to do some housework. I suppose that’s a guy thing.

    Thanks for sharing these tips!

I know right! I especially hate the kitchen and bathroom, and that’s why I do them first. I feel so much better about the whole house once they’re done and if I wait, I’ll never get to them because I’ll give up before I get there!

You’re not lame you’re smart! (I say that because I feel the same way and I’m totally not lame lol!) I mean why waste money on 5 or 6 different things when you can get the job done with one? Seems like genius to me!

I do a modified version of the 10 minute tactic. We have 3 stories, so after each meal I set aside 5 minutes per story to pick up. In all it gives me about 45 minutes of tidy-ing up but because it’s so structured it doesn’t bother me as much.
