First off, I am going to be honest, I wasn’t entirely sure was a CC cream was. I wear makeup, I have a ton of it, I buy more than I’ll ever need, but I hadn’t used this particular product before and I didn’t know why I needed it. Well, let me tell you (in case I’m not the only one who didn’t know), CC stand for color correcting. It is designed to help with issues like redness or uneven skin tone. (And really, who doesn’t have some of those issues at least some of the time?)
The CC cream comes in three shades to match most skin colors. I received the linen shade and it blended just great with my lighter (not yet tanned) skin tone. The cream actually begins with a white color in the tube and adapts to your own skin color as you blend it. The shades seem to be pretty forgiving too, so I think I would have been okay with the natural shade as well and possibly that may be better for my next purchase as it should work well as I do get tanner during the spring and summer months.
Key Benefits
- Protects: SPF 20 protects the skin, while Hydra-Extend technology provides moisture for up to 72 hours.
- Perfects: Enjoy natural looking coverage while micro-encapsulated pigments perfects and fade dark spots and acne scarring.
- Corrects: Anti-aging and collagen building ingredients help minimize fine lines and wrinkles.
- Hydrates: Hydra-Extend technology provides up to 72 hours of continuous hydration.
- Conceals: Micro encapsulated pigments deliver a fresh dose of color that adapts to your own skin tone, creating the most natural looking coverage.
- Smoothes: Skin nourishing ingredients help to correct and maintain youthful complexion.
What I Like
The coverage for me is awesome. Not too much and not too little. I am able to wear it alone or under my normal foundation depending on how much coverage I want on any particular day. It’s lightweight so I don’t feel like I have cake face by the end of the day. I love that it adapts to your own skin tone so it’s hard to choose the “wrong” shade. It also has 20 SPF which is great because adding sunscreen is one thing I never do that I absolutely should in order to protect my lovely, delicate skin. Since this cream is dual purpose, it ultimately saves time and money on buying a bunch of different products. Winner! At $34.00 a tube, it is on the higher end of what I would normally be willing to pay for make-up, but a little goes a long way so a tube for me would last a while and I think because of that, the benefits justify the cost.

April 2, 2014 at 9:13 amI used the Garnier Anti-aging BB cream all last summer, but their lightest shade matched my tannest skin, so I couldn’t use it this winter. I got the Mary Kay CC cream for the winter, and the coverage is great, but I was expecting more of a tinted lotion and it’s more like foundation, which I didn’t like. It would be great for someone who wanted more coverage though. I’m looking for a new CC cream and I’ve heard that the Yes To Grapefruit line is amazing. Thanks for the review on this one!
