So it’s no secret that I’ve been on an amazing weight loss journey the last few months. In the last 10 weeks I’ve managed to drop 30 pounds and I’m still going (hoping to shed about 30 more before I’m done.) Over 8 lbs. of that has been this week alone! I haven’t been hungry and I feel better than I’ve felt in years on this program. Part of being successful at any type of fitness and weight loss program is carefully tracking your weight, inches, and learning what foods and supplements work with and against your body. As we all know everyone is different.
I personally weigh daily, each morning as soon as I get up before drinking or eating anything. It’s very important to weigh at the same time each day if you are tracking weight so that the readings are accurate. As you can imagine, it’s also important to have an accurate scale. That’s where the Weight Guru’s Smartphone Connected Scale comes into the picture.
In the past I’ve had some good scales, but used a paper tracking system, or if I used apps to track, I often forgot to enter my weight for several days so I wasn’t getting completely accurate feedback on a daily basis which will give you an overall idea of how things are going, but doesn’t really allow you to understand how your body is responding to specific foods and such. When I found out that the Weight Guru’s Smartphone Connected scale had the ability to transmit your morning weigh in information directly to a tracking app in my smartphone, I was definitely interested in learning more. Sounds like the perfect solution for anyone serious about keeping in tune with their health and fitness right?
According to Weight Gurus:
A WEIGHT LOSS SCALE: The Weightless scale is the only scale specifically designed to encourage weight loss. The FREE Weight Gurus App tracks progress which encourages you to reach your goal. Our Weightless feature lets you manage your weight by how much you’ve lost instead of how much you weigh. With Weightless you decide how to view your weight – by the number (e.g. 173.4lbs) or weightlessly by weight change (e.g. -12lbs).
SMARTPHONE CONNECTED: If desired, sync weight automatically with your iPhone or Android device. Store entries, view trends and chart progress. (Smartphone not required for scale use).
ALL THE FEATURES YOU’LL WANT: Auto Step-on (turns on automatically when weighing). Auto Off. Auto calibration. Auto user detect (important for multi-user homes – e.g. husband/wife). Supports up to 8 users. Non-slip, scratch resistant feet. 4 ultra-precision weighing sensors. 400lb capacity. BIA Analysis for Body Fat, Lean Mass, Water Weight and Bone Mass. +/- .1 lb resolution. Durable tempered glass construction. Large weighing platform (150 sq inches). Extra Large, Backlit LCD (4.3″). Kg / Lbs. 4 AAA batteries included.
Sounds like it covers all the bases right? After using it for a couple of weeks, I can tell you it does everything it says it will. The sleek black design looks great with any bathroom décor (yes aesthetics do matter even when you’re talking about a scale.) All I have to do is open the smartphone app when I step on the scale each morning and the information is stored directly in my phone and readily available when I need to access it. I don’t have to remember to log it later when I have time and I don’t have to find that darn paper I spilled coffee on earlier. The app itself can also track BMI, muscle mass, and water consumption if you’re interested in those things. You can see weight history by month, week or year and access various graphs if you’re a visual person. (It is super motivating to see that graph like continually going down!) If I needed a new, budget friendly, scale with all the bells and whistles and the added convenience of smartphone connectivity, I would definitely go out and buy this from Weight Gurus. You can currently pick it up on Amazon for under $40.00 so it’s a pretty killer deal.

June 16, 2014 at 7:52 amWow, Alison. I have been a Weight Watcher for a long time. I attend weekly meeting and have pretty much maintained my goal weight the past year + or – 2 pounds. I do like to weigh myself every day. What I really like about this scale, that you can go by how much you have lost. Not by the number of pounds you are. I definitely think that would be an awesome motivator. Even when things aren’t going so well and you focus on the negative instead of the positive which only drives the scale up. Good luck with your efforts. It is my magnum opus.
