Let’s talk about eyelash curlers. They all promise amazing things, but rarely do they deliver. In my experience what they do provide is pain, frustration, and hopelessness, all in an attempt to achieve those perfectly curled lashes that you only really see in the movies. Basically I quit using eyelash curlers a long time ago because it just wasn’t worth it. Is there anyone out there that really enjoys using these contraptions? Yeah….didn’t think so.
Why the heck am I even talking about eyelash curlers if I hate them so much you ask? Well, that’s because an opportunity came up, and I decided to get back on the horse and give it another try. Today my friends, you’ll be learning all about the Whiplash Eyelash Curler by Crave Naturals. Will it be the miracle we’ve all been waiting for, the holy grail of eyelash curlers, or will it go in the scrap pile with all the others that have failed miserably at the one job they’re promised to do?
Basically, there are only a few, simple things I ask of an eyelash curler. I would like it to be comfortable to use and not awkward feeling in my hands. I would like it to not pinch my eyes and pull my eyelashes out and finally, and probably most important, it should curl my eyelashes and not “crimp” them at a 90 degree angle or leave half of them poking off into some weird direction. I don’t really think that’s asking too much…do you?
According to the product description on Amazon, the whiplash eyelash curler should meet all of these requirements and then some. It claims to have:
- Ergonomic handle provides for full control and ease of use
- Captures each lash for fully lifted lashes
- Designed for all eye shapes and sizes
- Create dramatic lashes that last all day
- Closure latch makes it perfect for travelling
And the box indicates the following:
It really may be the most amazing eyelash curler in history and it certainly looks awesome too! (And it’s pink so that’s extra brownie points because I love pink!). I’m also kind of impressed that they included so many replacement pads, because assuming I love the results, I’m going to need some of those right? So far so good!
Now the real question, how does this bad boy work? Does it do everything it says and is the the solution for women everywhere who have given up on eyelash curlers in the past? I didn’t feel awkward holding it so the comfort level was good. I didn’t end up in tears from my eyes being pinched or my lashes being pulled out one by one (or in clumps). My lashes were not darting out at odd angles and it did actually curl my lashes. By all accounts I’m going to say this is a huge victory! I mean I don’t look like I ran out and bought extensions or anything, but there’s definitely a noticeable difference in the curvature of my lashes.I’m actually impressed and will definitely be continuing to use this particular eyelash curler. And did I mention it’s pink?? I mean come on, it’s always nice when the tools of the trade are nice to look at too.
Will I spend all my days and nights planning the next time I can curl my lashes? Probably not but now at least I don’t cringe at the thought of having to use one when I get gussied up for the next big office party. If you want to give this bad boy a try for yourself, you can pick one up on Amazon for under $15.00.
