So you’ve probably realized that this girl loves some candy corn so I love fall recipes that incorporate these little kernels of sugary goodness. And just because Halloween has come and gone doesn’t mean we can’t still make some super fun and yummy Candy Corn creations. This week we are using cookies because well….cookies, everyone loves cookies! These are super easy kid friendly treats too so round up the little ones and let’s make some turkey cookies!
CANDY CORN TURKEY OREOS
This is always a fun project for kids and adults alike. To make these Oreo Turkey’s all you need to have on hand is:
- Double-Stuf Oreos
- White frosting
- Pretzel sticks
- Candy eyes (even these are optional if you can’t find them)
- Candy corns
Break a pretzel stick in half and carefully push the sticks inside the cookie to form the legs. That’s why having double stuff Oreo’s is important, because the delicious cookie cream is what holds your legs and feathers into place. Do the same with 5 candy corns up top to form the feathers. Use 3 small dollops of icing on the top of the cookie and add the candy eyes and a candy corn for a nose. If you don’t have candy eyes, do a dollop of white frosting with a black icing dot in the middle. Pretty easy and super cute right?!
CHOCOLATE CHIP CANDY CORN TURKEYS
Not to be outdone, these are super easy too, and I’m a chocolate chip cookie hound so I couldn’t leave them out of the festivities. It just means we have one more candy corn turkey treat to make a gobbly good Thanksgiving. All you do for these is take a chocolate chip cookie (homemade or store bought, trust me I won’t judge) and frost with chocolate or vanilla frosting along the top. Top this frosting with candy corns to form the feathers. Use frosting or candy eyes for the eyes and another candy corn to make the beak. Who knew candy corn could be so versatile, hey? Try any or all these fun projects or use them for inspiration to create your own.
