Perfect Curls Every Time – KISS Instawave

November 24, 2014 by Alison 5 Comments

I received a free KISS InstaWave courtesy of Brand Backer in exchange for my honest review. All opinions and my love for gorgeous curls are 100% my own.

Anyone have hard to curl hair? You know, the kind that you have to use tons of product or wait till you’re literally frying your hair before they’ll actually stay in and even then they’re flat before lunch time?  If that sounds like you, then listen up, there may be hope yet! It’s called the KISS InstaWave hair curler. Now hear me out on this because this thing really works!

I’m going to admit, I was stoked to try it, but I had some reservations about how well it would actually work and heck, it looked sort of funny, but you know me, I’m willing to try just about anything once. In this case we had company over for the weekend so my sister-in-law wanted to check it out too and let me tell you she LOVED it! So much so, I’m pretty sure I’ve lost my KISS InstaWave for good. She said that under normal circumstances, it would take her a good hour and a half to get her whole head curled, because like me, she has that hair that refuses to hold curl without some real effort. With the KISS InstaWave, she had her entire done in beautiful bouncy curls in less than 30 minutes, and that was her first time using the curler so I expect it will go even faster after using it a few times.

Using the Kiss InstaWave Curler
The KISS InstaWave takes some getting used to because it’s a little different than a traditional curling iron, but once you get the hang of it, it’s really much less tiring for your wrists and the process goes pretty quickly.
  • Hold the InstaWave vertically
  • Place a section of hair on the InstaWave curling rod
  • Touch the Curl Dial either left or right, and the InstaWave instantly and automatically catches and curls the hair
  • Hold for 5-10 seconds, hold longer for tighter curls and less for beachy waves
  • Pull the InstaWave down vertically, letting hair out
  • Tip: Switch between curling right and curling left to create the most natural looking curls

You don’t actually have to twist the curler so your wrists will thank you and at no time was hair getting tangled in the prongs an issue like I initially though it may be.  There is also a built in safety feature so your curler will automatically shut off after 90 minutes if it is left on. Trust me this is a cool feature because I’m notorious for trying to burn down the house with left on curling iron and straighteners!

If you’re dying to give this a try or know someone that would live to find a KISS InstaWave in their Christmas Stocking this year you can find out more online or pick one up at Target, Amazon or Ulta.

Would the KISS InstaWave solve any of your hair styling problems? What do you think would be your favorite feature? Let me know in the comments below and thanks for reading!

Lol @ burning the house down with the tongs/iron! I hope you get your Instawave back – it certainly sounds amazing.

To be honest, the first couple tries we thought we were going to hate it too, but after a few practice curls when we figured out what we were doing, we decided it was pretty cool…at least on my sister-in-laws hair. Mine is pretty short (or is without my extensions in) so didn’t really work out.
