I received the March 2015 box free from Sugar Bash to facilitate my review. All opinions are 100% my own and based on my experience with the products.
Subscription boxes – they’ve become quite popular and I for one absolutely love them. Well, I love checking them out…some are amazing and totally worth the money month after month; others can put a bad taste in your mouth after the first box. That’s kind of part of the fun though, you never really know what you’re going to get. It’s like Christmas morning for mommies once a month in your mailbox which is cool because this mama for one, works hard at creating surprises, but there’s not much left that’s a surprise for me. Are you with me on that?! One thing that I’ve noticed though, is that the vast majority of subscription boxes out there are beauty boxes. Now that’s not a bad thing at all. I for one love beauty boxes, and love feeling beautiful, but sometimes a more varied box that speaks to a variety of people, not just beauty lovers would be kind of awesome. Well, let me introduce you to the Sugar Bash Lifestyle subscription box.
What is the Sugar Bash Lifestyle Box?
Sugar Bash has come up with a monthly subscription box that encompasses a variety of needs including beauty, gadgets, kitchen items, a little pampering, and all things lifestyle. The creaters of this box say:
Limited Edition. That’s your style. This box is as unique as your are. One-of-a-kind and put together with your style ,sass, good taste and class! Our boxes are valued typically between 50 – 60 dollars and sell for $25. A great deal for your money. Full size products only from a variety of brands. We will have an ongoing theme moving forward. Our goal is to let our subscribers truly test drive products and make sure they are a true fit before they purchase. Trial sizes are great for a few days but, you need a whole month to see any real results. Plus the more feedback we get from our subscribers the better we will be able to personalize the boxes. How? We send out surveys and regularly ask subscribers to update their preferences. What we are about? You! We want you to enjoy getting a single box with all the things that interest you. You don’t have to go out there and subscribe to 5 boxes. Just a single box that can contain beauty, fitness and more based on your interests. Make the combination that suits you.
How does it measure up?
I received the March 2015 box to review. What is the March theme? Here is a hint. You will want this box for your spring break adventure or your spring getaway.
Self tanning towel. I may live in a cave or something because I didn’t even realize this is a thing?! I actually kind of love the idea. I own a tanning bed, but I’m admittedly too busy to use it regularly so I can totally see this coming in handy in a pinch. Now, I haven’t used it yet so I can’t share the results, but that’s becuase I’m saving it for my upcoming trip to the Mom2.0 Summit in April when I know I’ll need to help my pasty white skin out for the few days I’m gone.
Cotton Refreshment towels and make-up remover wipes. A makeup remover wipe is always useful. This is another item I’ll be hoarding to pack for upcoming trips. These are way easier to take than bottles of cleanser and I always feel guilty about coating those beautiful white hotel washcloths in foundation and mascara. The cotton refreshment towels is one item that I was a little “meh” about. I think they’re pretty cool, but not sure how much I’d use them — I can totally see them being an awesome little treat for very athletic people or people that head to the gym on a regular basis though.
Edge tamer an veggie peeler…the edge tamer looks pretty cool. It’s clear in color and you just rub a little along your hairline to straighten and tame uruly edges for that polished look. I can already think of times I would use this — I have these few pieces of hair that are basically broken off bangs, but they stick up when I clip my bangs back so this could totally come in handy to keep those funky strays at bay. As far as the peeler goes, it may not be super exciting, but I was glad it came. It’s one of those kitchen items that always seems to disappear just when you need it so it is definitely a practical and useful addition to this box.
Dianne Reeves CD…I’m going to be honest here, I wasn’t sure how I felt about this at first becuase a.) it’s been years since I purchased a CD, hello digital download and satellite radio! and b.) I hadn’t a foggy clue who Dianne Reeves was. But I’m not one to judge a book by it’s cover so I’ll give anything a good ole’ college try once before I decide. I popped this baby into my jeeps CD player on the way to work and I discovered I actually kind of liked it – in case you’re wondering it’s mostly a Jazz vocal album. Not my typical genre, but I can absolutely see turning this one for some weekend housecleaning music or something so I’m going to say after chewing on it for a while, this gets a thumbs up too.
And this…this picture keeper may be my very favorite item in this months box. I mean we all take tons of photos and I for one, do a terrible job of backing them up even though one of my biggest fears is losing them all so I know this is going to come in very handy. I love the fact that not only does it back up your photos, its a searchable storage system making retrieval painless even with up to 4,000 stored images. It’s safe to say I was pretty stoked when I pulled this out of the box!
Overall, I think the Sugar Bash box is really cool and I love that it throws together a variety of elements into one fun monthly box. At $25 a month, I’d definitely like to check out a few more months and see how they begin to incorporate subscriber feedback into the contents choices. If you’re as excited about the possibilities of this box as me, make sure you head over to the Sugar Bash website for more info. and to get yourself signed up for follow on Twitter for the most current updates!
