I was going to write a post about a dress…but there was so much more I wanted to write about because it’s been kind of a whirlwind week. Lots happening and even more stuff that’s about to happen in upcoming days and weeks – a bit overwhelming, a bit exciting, and even a little bit sentimental. I thought the easiest way to share it all was with little list to give y’all a little glimpse of everything that is currently going on:
Watching: Lip Sync Battles, Top 10 Weirdest and Vines compilations on You Tube. They’re freaking hilarious and I love them. If you haven’t you should watch them sometime. I’ve watche pretty much everything good on Netflix and definitely need a new series to binge on so if you have any suggestions let me know!
Listening: 7th Grade Band concerts…that’s what was in store for our listening pleasure tonight. It was my son’s last concert of the year and his last concert as a 7th grader. One more year until high school which is pretty hard for this mama to belive. I didn’t think 7th grade was that big of a milestone but every day I’m coming to realize more and more that every year, every grade, every achievement…they’re all big deals in their own rite.
Reading: Gone Girl. No I haven’t watched the movie so I’m reading the book. Very slowly, like 2 pages a week…not kidding at all, but that’s what I’m currently trying to read.
Making: Lists…and lists of lists that I need to make. Things have been so crazy busy with work, the blog, the end of the school year, horse show season, and graduations around every corner there’s just no down time. I feel like I have no idea what I’m doing and if I feel like I know what I’m doing I must be forgetting something so lists. It’s the only way I can keep anything straight. Who are all my list makers out there?
Loving: SinfulColors spring line. My bug likes to paint her nails “like Mommy” and Mommy switches colors all the time. SinfulColors has an awesome collection of colors that alwasy comes out with something new for every season or major holiday. Since they’re only $1.99 each they’re pretty easy on the old pocket book too.
Planning: Trips. So many trips this summer. Probably more than I’ve ever taken in one season in my life which accounts for a lot of the lists and of course some of the exhaustion. I’ve already gone on one trip to Arizona at the end of April to the Mom2.0 Summit which was awesome. Then we had a long Memorial Day weekend camping trip and a horse show on the other side of the state the weekend after that. This weekend will be another horse show and then Monday I head down to Portland Disney Social Media Moms on the Road. Next weekend is another trip across the state for my brother-in-laws graduation and July is a week in NYC for Blogger Bash. The first week in August my parents will be up from Texas and we’ll be renting a vacation house for a week. September is the International Food Bloggers Conference in Seattle and to finish the year up, a week in Vegas in December…I’m exhausted just thinking about it all.
Wearing: The long maxi. I haven’t always been a dress wearer, but I’ve recently decided they’re pretty comfy and take a lot less work that coordinating an entire outfit in the early mornings before work and since I’m a fan of convenience, maxi skirts and dresses are really working for me right now. I love this Libian Maxi because it actually comes in a plus size. It’s a strapless so I can wear it all casual like in the evenings or on the weekend or I can throw a little cardigan or shrug on and fancy it up for work. I love the color too…I typically choose black and very neutral colors but when I saw this blue it spoke to me and I had to give a little color a try. It just feels summery – what do you think?
Feeling: Exhausted. I can’t say that I’m not looking forward to fall already so things will slow down for a bit before the holidays pick back up again. Don’t get me wrong, I love all the functions, the fun, the long weekends out of town, but I also long for a weekend of PJ’s, slurpees and a good Netflix marathon. No rest for the wicked though right?
So tell me, what’s currently going on in your neck of the woods? Let me know in the comments below and thanks for reading!
