It’s a new year, I’m another year older. Wiser? Maybe, but definitely busier and well, let’s just say that I’m not looking or feeling as young as I once did. I find that I’m not always as confident about a lot of things as I once was. I think most people, especially ladies, hit this point where we don’t think we’re old, but we realize we just can’t run with the youngsters anymore either so where does that put us? Dare I say middle-aged? I’ll be the first to admit I’ve been feeling it lately. I’m frumpy and tired more often than not so what better time to say no more frumpy mom than the new year? Here’s what I’ve decided to do:
Makeup – I’m going to wear it. Like I’m going to actually take the time to do it well most days of the week. When I let myself look ragged and exhausted, I feel that way. When I take the time to take care of myself, I feel better about me and makeup is one of my favorite things. It’s so fun so I’m going to force myself to take the time to enjoy it more.
Hair – Same principal as makeup. I’m going to stop the messy bun or quick ponytail every day. It’s lazy and it makes me look and feel lazy. I’m going to take the time to actually style my hair more often. When my hair looks good, and my makeup is on fleek…we’ll I’m definitley more confident.
Wear real clothes – that means I have to pull out something beside the yoga pants and leggings. While I do love them, the do nothing but scream frumpy tired mom. At bedtime that’s fine, but getting dressed can no longer mean pulling a clean pair of yoga pants out of the drawer. Real pants it is in 2016!
Mani / Pedi – Vain? Maybe, but pedicures feel great and a fresh set of nails or polish just makes me feel prettier. It motivates me to keep up with hair and the makeup and the less frumpy version of myself. There’s nothing wrong with a little pampering once in a while and it also makes for a great mom – daughter date at the mall.
Healthier Choices – I need to lose a few pounds. The extra weight does nothing in making me feel better about myself so it’s time to let it go. Less cookies and more carrots is the first step so while I’m not committing to some life altering diet that’s destined for failure, I am going to make an effort to make better choices where eating is concerned. Less soda, more water, fewer chips, more fruits and maybe a little exercise. Little changes can make a big difference.
Inspirational Quotes – Cheesy maybe, but when I start my day with a positive thought, it really can make a difference in the way I perceive everything from that point on. Here’s the one I framed and hung above my computer desk – kind of my mantra for my blog this year. I feel more motivated just looking at it!

Poise Very Light Absorbency Liners – Now how does a panty liner build confidence you ask? Well think about it, when you have leaks its embarrassing. I would venture to guess that if we admitted it, the majority of us ladies have experienced this issue at one time or another. I’ll own it and I’ll also admit that I don’t like it so if someone is handing me a product that will allow me not to worry even if I forget to cross my legs when I sneeze, I should use it right?
Poise incontinence panty liners stay three times drier than leading regular size feminine care liners where needed most because they are specifically designed for Light Bladder Leakage (LBL). The Absorb-Loc core quickly locks away wetness and protects against incontinence odor to help keep you fresh and dry, and it’s super easy to just pick up a box on your next Sam’s Club run (you save a few bucks by purchasing them there as well). The older we get the worse it gets and that’s how Poise Very Light Absorbency Liners can help keep me confident so I can concentrate on getting my hustle on!
What are your 2016 goals? Is there anything you could do to help you be a little more confident or do you already exude awesomeness? Let me know in the comments below and thanks for reading!

January 7, 2016 at 8:09 pmYOu know I went through like a six year period where I didn’t care much about my looks I had two small children and I’m a stay at home mom, so I fell into the yoga pants ponytail saga daily and make-up? Who has time for that and who really cared if I wore make-up, seemed like a waste of time. Then I started really seeing myself and while I’m not a person that devotes much time to her appearance, I decided it felt great to blow dry my hair again (never had time with babies and I always had frumpy I went to bed with wet hair look) I also decided to wear make-up at least to specific places…that has totally helped in the way I view myself.

January 8, 2016 at 8:18 amYes exactly!! I got into the frame of mind “who cares about everyone else, I’m comfortable and blah, blah, blah”, well it’s not everyone else, I wasn’t feeling great about myself and prettying myself up a bit, well it makes me feel better so it’s not so much for everyone else, it truly is for my own wellbeing!

January 7, 2016 at 11:56 pmWhat great tips for staying confident. I need to start wearing makeup more often. I don’t like the way foundation feels so I guess I need to start by finding a light foundation. Poise has helped many other stay active and on top of their game.

January 8, 2016 at 3:13 amThis is a great post and great goals for this new year. I do believe as woman we all feel this way sometimes. When I need the boost of confidence I usually change my hair color. I don’t wear make-up every day but I usually put it on at least 3 to 4 times a week so I feel better about myself.
