Summer’s coming but is your skin ready? Mine probably isn’t because I’m horrible about my skincare routine in the winter – I just get lazy all the way around in the winter. It’s a problem. It’s a problem because my skin is so finicky that I should really be on top of it no matter what the season so this is my plan…I’m going to share my current skin care routine with you to help keep myself accountable and to help you learn a little bit about CeraVe.
My skin care routine starts at Walmart because that’s where I pick up all of the CeraVe products I need to keep my skin in tip top shape. I love that CeraVe helps replenish the vital ceramides healthy skin needs. CeraVe products are non-irritating and fragrance-free and most are also non-comedogenic which is good since I’m kind of a makeup.I also tend to think of the evening as the beginning of my daily routine, rather than the end because that’s when the make-up has to come off I start getting myself ready to tackle the next day.
Step One: Messy bun. Let’s be honest, nobody really goes through their daily skin care routine with salon quality hair done and camera ready so in real life, we just want it out of our face so messy bun it is.
Step Two: CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser to remove dirt, oil and makeup as ceramides and hyaluronic acid moisturize, soften, and help repair the skin barrier. I love this cleanser because it feels “soapy” enough to make your face feel clean, but your face doesn’t feel dried out after use.
Step Three: CeraVe Moisturizing Cream moisturizes and helps restore the protective skin barrier, with vital ceramides· It makes my skin feel smooth without feeling oily which is huge for me especially as I’ve gotten a little older. This moisturizer is great for arms, legs, and elbows too – not just the face. After this step I generally head to bed for the night.
Step Four: In the morning when I get up I use the CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser to removes any dirt, oil or makeup that I may have missed. This also helps with replenishing skin with ceramides· It’s really more of a gel-like texture than a foamy soap which took some getting ued to, but now I kind of enjoy it.
Step Five: Before applying makeup I dab on a bit of CeraVe AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion. Just as it says, this lotion moisturizes and provides broad spectrum sun protection· Then I apply makeup and I’m ready for my day.
Step Six (Optional): Depending on the time of year (think spring and summer) you may need a little additional protection from the sun. That’s where CeraVe Sunscreen Face Lotion SPF 50 come in. This sunscreen provides broad spectrum, lightweight sun protection plus vital ceramides and can be worn under or without makeup.
Great news for all you deal lovers, three of my fave CeraVe products, the hydrating cleanser, the foaming facial cleanser, and the moisturizing cream, will be on Rollback until 5/9/2016. All 3 will be at a $9.97 retail until that date. This is a great deal because the containers are generously sized and last quite a while. You can also pick up a $2 coupon here! Want to learn more? Be sure to follow CeraVe on Twitter to stay in the know!

April 20, 2016 at 9:03 amI can’t believe those prices! You can’t buy anything in Denmark for that price. That SPF 50 lotion sounds right up my alley… I’ve always paid a lot of attention to my skin, and now that I’m 40, it’s totally paying off.

April 20, 2016 at 10:55 amCeraVe sounds like an amazing skin care line. I love that it’s more than just a moisturizer. Any lotion or random hydrating cream can add moisture. I love that CeraVe actually adds the things that our skin needs to be healthy as well as moisturized.

April 20, 2016 at 11:58 amOur skin is our biggest organ and yet we often forget to take care of it. I’ve always heard such great things about CeraVe, but I haven’t tried their products yet. I’ll be looking for them on my next shopping trip!

April 20, 2016 at 4:28 pmGreat reminder for me to look at my current skin care regimes and see what needs changing for summer. I definitely need to make sure I have plenty of sunscreen for avoiding sunburn. However, I know some of my stuff is probably ready to hit the trash and start fresh with the new. I think the moisturizer is what I go through the most living up in Alaska where the air is dry most of the year.

April 20, 2016 at 6:22 pmComing off winter, my skin is a hot mess! I know I need to do a better job, but I tend to get really lazy in the winter, and more nights than not, I will fall asleep with make up still on. Plus, with all the wind and cold weather, I need to be moisturizing more frequently than I am. There are days when I feel like my skin is so dry it’s just going to flake off!

April 20, 2016 at 7:17 pmOh my this is soooo me in the winter! In the summer I’m better because I wear less makeup and get hot and sweaty so I wash it off every evening, but in the winter not so much…it’s really a horrible habit!
