Are you a parent? Do you ever find yourself overwhelmed when trying to micromanage the many details of life for every single family member? If you said no, never, I suspect you’re not actually a parent. I personally feel like I’m forgetting to do something if I don’t feel that way several times a day. The solution, at least for me is pare down to the essentials. Stop taking on more than I know we really have the time and energy to do. Stop with elaborate meals all the time just to try to be super Pinterest mom and just make sure they’re fed a reasonably healthy diet. And instead of worrying so much about dirt and clean-up, just let the kids be kids. And no, contrary to what you might think, that doesn’t equate to more work for me because I’ve got a secret weapon to take care of that…all® Fresh Clean Essentials™ Fresh Scent.
all® Fresh Clean Essentials™ Fresh Scent can be purchased online at all® Fresh Clean Essentials™ Fresh Scent which is perfect for me. There’s even an all® Fresh Clean Essentials™ all® Fresh Clean Essentials™ Fresh Scent option for those that may be a little more sensitive. Just make sure you follow the instructions on the packaging and you should be good to go. Y’all know how much I like convenience and online shopping so I can just add this to my order with the other household staples that I already have shipped every month or two!
While letting the kids be kids means a lot of laundry it’s really a very small price to pay for amazing childhood memories. I will admit though, that this mama likes to keep that laundry contained. This fun laundry bag makes it easy to get laundry to and from the wash and they’re also super easy to personalize (dorm gift maybe?!).
Drawstring Laundry Bag Tutorial
Supplies
(2)Pieces Patterned Utility Fabric, 44 in. by 25 in.
Fabric Scissors
Straight Pins
Sewing Machine
Spool of Sewing Thread (Coordinate to match fabric)
Jute or Poly Rops, 2 yards
Directions
Cut fabric to size and lay with right sides facing out. Fold the pieces of fabric 1/2 inch from the edge along both long sides and one of the shorter sides (this will be the bottom of your bag). Pin the fold in place and stitch along all three sides of the folded fabric, leaving the top of the bag open. Remove pins.
To create the channel for the drawstring on top, fold 2.5 inches of fabric on the remaining unstitched side and pin into place. Stitch the fold leaving a 2 inch folded border. Be sure to backstitch along each side edge for added durability.
Repeat steps above with remaining piece of fabric then piece both pieces of fabric together, right sides facing in and pin to secure. Sew along each of the three sides of the fabric, stopping just below the channel openings at top. I suggest back-stitching at each of the channel points for added security and turn the entire bag right-side out.
String the rope through the top channels in the bag. Tie a knot in the ends to keep them from slipping out.

May 9, 2016 at 8:35 amI love this easy DIY! This would be a great laundry bag for my son to take to summer camp this year! We also use All almost exclusively. It’s one of the few detergents that I have no skin reactions to! Definitely a plus in my book 🙂
