Thank you to Evite® for sponsoring this post. All opinions and my love for party’s, planning, and Christmas are 100% my own.
Ugly Christmas sweaters are so overdone; I love them, but let’s be honest – it would cost a fortune for me to outfit the family in new Christmas sweaters. Since we planned this at the last minute, and on a pretty tight budget, we decided to go with a Ugly Christmas Sock theme. Face it – not only are Christmas socks fun and affordable, they’re way more practical and I’m sure they’ll get worn a ton between now and Christmas!
The first thing I did when I decided on this party was send out the invites. It was kind of a last minute thing so I wanted to get everyone plenty of time to get it on their calendar. Fortunately Evite makes it super easy to get the invites out (and they were free). Pretty cute for the last minute right?
We ran to the local dollar store and picked up some supplies like plates, cups, utensils, and gift bags and then headed to the grocery store for food and drinks. We prepared simple to make easy to eat foods like these Sweet and Sour Meatballs and White Chocolate Haystacks. Of course Mudslides were served because what’s a Christmas party without Mudslides and Hot Buttered Rum?
We picked up a few prizes like candles and sparkling wine and printed out trivia games that we found on Pinterest so the games, which were super fun, were totally free to come up with! (You can find the printables I used and other ideas on my Ugly Sock Party Pinterest Board so be sure to check it out!) Everyone participated, the little kids, the tweens and teens and every single adult in the house. It was an absolute blast!
Of course we had a White Elephant Gift Exchange which consisted of the extra ugly socks that I had everyone bring. Some of the socks were absolutely amazing and some were downright ugly as you can tell!
Overall, it was an absolute blast, even though it was super cheap to pull together and very last minute. With the help of Evite, I was able to make it seem like I’d spent weeks planning and working to pull it off when I really worked on the fly and pulled most of it together in a matter of hours. So even if you’re like me and feel like you’re weeks behind this year, or maybe you’re a bit of a procrastinator, believe me when I say you still have plenty of time have a little holiday fun and Evite can help make it happen! You can even send a fun little thank you note after the fact to let everyone know how much fun you had!
