It’s well known that this blog is not my only job. In fact, while I love it most, being an online influencer is not even my primary job. I’ve been in the commercial insurance industry for almost 16 years now. My specialty is Agricultural Insurance and Contractors…that means a lot of farmers and builders so my clients are primarily men as are many of my co-workers and competitors.
While it’s not back breaking, physical labor, the industry is tough, especially when you’re in a niche market like I am. There is no room for error and there is also no room for anyone lacking confidence in their abilities or for those that are not driven to be learn-it-alls. I say learn it all because insurance is an ever changing industry and you have to be a step ahead of the game or you lose. You lose the confidence of current clients and you lose the shot at gaining new ones. You have to be the best of the best to compete in this world and while it’s not always fair, the reality is that as a female, you have to be twice as knowledgeable as the men working along side you because there’s still a lot of the good ole’boys club mentality and that’s a hard road to travel, especially when you’re not even a boy!
Brawny realizes that strength comes in a variety of forms and it doesn’t matter if you’re male or female, hard work and determination is what it takes to be successful no matter what it is you do. The Strength Has No Gender™ campaign highlights the inspirational stories of everyday women in cities across America who have been breaking down barriers in traditionally male-dominated industries and empowering others. There have been so many of these inspiring ladies throughout history, and you know what? There are many of them out there slaying right this minute!
On a recent trip to Walmart, which is a pretty regular outing since it’s one of the easiest and most wallet friendly places there is to stay stocked up on everything this busy Mama needs to keep her family alive, I was able to pick up a pack of Brawny® Pick-a-Size 8 Giant Plus paper towels.
It’s actually mind-numbing to think about how many things I use paper towels for every day. Exclusive to Walmart, the limited-edition Strength Has No Gender™ pack kind of makes my day. One of the bonuses of Brawny® Paper towels is that they offer more sheets on every roll (vs. leading national brand comparable roll and sheet size) and help you clean up whatever life throws down.
This is helpful when you feel like there’s always something (or someone and quite possibly some animals) that needs cleaning. When you’re exhausted from a long day breaking down barriers at work, it’s nice to have strong and durable just like you, to help tackle life once you get home.
What can Brawny help you with? What gender barriers are you breaking? Who’s a strong and inspirational woman in your life? Let me know in the comments below and thanks for reading!

March 7, 2017 at 8:59 pmI can be proud to say that I am very handy with tools. Not crafty, but handy. I can work those tools like it is second nature. I thank my Dad for training me to be independent and make my own home repairs. Brawny paper towels would help me with cleaning up!

March 8, 2017 at 3:05 amAll the moms in the world is a hero for me. They can do anything that a man cannot do perfectly. Taking care of everything, household, children, financial and a lot more is not an easy task but moms patiently do it with tender loving care.

March 8, 2017 at 8:35 amI had no idea there was even a specialty like agriculture insurance. I’m sure most people wouldn’t expect to find a woman excelling in that field. It’s so great that you found your niche. I hope more women go out for these types of jobs. #client

March 8, 2017 at 9:28 amI work i quite a male-dominated environment too and sometimes you can see them disregarding you because of your gender. Good to see some companies don’t see us as a weaker inferior sex!

March 8, 2017 at 5:27 pmI love this packaging so much! I can’t wait to pick some up.
Gender barriers I work on is trying to be able to fix things on my own. When my husband deploys, it’s only me, so I need to do it on my own.

March 13, 2017 at 9:32 pmBrawny does look undestructable compared to others I’ve bought. It actually looks like the one I buy from costco. I will consider this when I go to walmart needing to buy more paper towels.
