All Tassel No Hassle: How To Throw A Hassle Free Graduation Party

April 28, 2017 by Alison Leave a Comment

Thank  you to Evite for sponsoring this post. All opinions and my love for a good party are 100% my own!

Congrats!!! You did it! You managed to get your offspring though years of school and activities and now it’s graduation time. Wow, that escalated quickly…so now what? Well it’s party time of course. What would a rite of passage as important as graduation be without an epic graduation party! ! I remember my graduation…it was a pretty special time, but also pretty chaotic. Several of my friends are now planning their own kids’ graduation parties and festivities over the next several weeks and now as a parent myself, I realize this is also a huge deal for the entire family, not just the graduate. I think that finding ways to make the celebration a little less stressful, yet still meaningful, so that everyone can enjoy this time is really important. You know, all tassel and no hassle.

  • Decorations are great, but don’t overdo it.  Less is more. People are there to focus on the graduate and his/her accomplishments, not to see if you used streamers and matching confetti. Save yourself the hassle and the cleanup.

  • Make memories that will last by incorporating things like a memory jar. Everyone in attendance can write a memory they have of the graduate, it goes in the jar and you kiddo has this to look back on for many years ahead. Friends and family can all participate and all you have to do is provide a jar, paper, and some pens to create on  of the most memorable gifts your graduate will ever receive. Use this free printable template to get your own memory jar started!

  • Food – every party needs food. I like to go with finger foods that can be easily made ahead so the host isn’t sitting in the kitchen slaving away while everyone else is making memories. It’s also fun to include some special little touches like M&M’S® that can be personalized for your special grad.
