I have been compensated by JOHNSON’S® Baby for this post; however, I am sharing my own thoughts. All opinions are my own.
So the holidays seem to have snuck up on me again. Every year I say I’m going to be so prepared, and every year I wake up one morning confused and wondering how Christmas is only a week away…again. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love the Holiday Season. It’s such a happy and selfless time but it’s also a little bit chaotic. I’m sure a lot of you can agree with that. Surviving all of the fun, festivities, and family can be tough, and it’s even tougher when you have kiddos that you’re also responsible for keeping alive.
While navigating all the hustle and bustle is fun it can also be stressful for the entire family. At the end of the day, there are few things that compare to a good bedtime routine and that goes for parents too. Just taking a bit to wind down and decompress can make all the difference in the world. Of course the kiddos go first and in our case, we start with JOHNSON’S® No More Tangles Shampoo and Conditioner. My daughter has absolutely beautiful hair, but it can be a nightmare if it gets ratty and tangled and since it’s long and curly, it’s highly probable that it is a hot mess by bedtime. The no more tangles line was something I remember my mom using with my sister and I, and I’ve used it with both of my kids with positive results as well. In fact, this mama still uses the leave-in detangling spray herself – it’s that good!
After bath time is over and hair has been washed, dried and brushed out, we like to move on to our favorite lotion ever – usually that’s JOHNSON’S® bedtime baby lotion. The lavender scent is super relaxing and perfect to help get the kiddos (and mom) wound down from the chaotic day.
In the winter when our skin tends to be drier, we also incorporate Johnson’s baby oil gel with shea and cocoa butter. Just adding that to our evening routine 2-3 nights a week makes a huge difference. Fun fact: we also use JOHNSON’S® baby products like the baby oil gel on our miniature show horses manes and faces before they head into the arena. It’s always been gentle enough for my kiddos so I trust it for our four legged kids as well!
While it’s not a common part of our bedtime routine, as any parent with kids of just about any age knows, sometimes the first aid kit makes an appearance too. We live in a rural area and there’s lots of space for the kids to run and play, but they often come back in for the evening with a scrape here and there from the intense play that taking palace. When that happens, I like to bring out everyone’s trusty antibiotic ointment, Neosporin. Pair that with a fancy Paw Patrol Band-Aid and a chewable Children’s Tylenol if needed and those babies are going to be as good as new come morning!
So that in a nutshell, is one way I survive these last few chaotic weeks of the year. A little relaxation, pampering, and preparing for the whole family can make all the difference between good stress and bad.
