Fun Fact about me: I love silent auctions. You know what else I love? The awareness surrounding breast cancer these days. Now I don’t love that breast cancer (or any cancer for that matter) exists, but if it has to exist awareness is the key to prevention and early detection. Since breast cancer has occurred in my family and more recently in my circle of friends, I am extra aware and I want everyone else to be as well.
But what do silent auctions have to do with breast cancer you may be asking? Well the Breast Cancer Alliance and their upcoming silent auction and October 30th event is what. The mission of Breast Cancer Alliance includes spreading the word and sharing all of the things relevant to breast cancer. Less Fun Fact: one in eight women will have breast cancer. Wow…that’s a lot. You don’t even have to have a family history to be at risk of having breast cancer, and early detection saves lives.
