Okay, if you know me even just a little bit, picture perfect is probably a bit of an exaggeration. In fact, a quote by one of my favorite 8 year olds ever, should probably be my life’s mantra, “I’m just here to put the MESS in Domesticated”. I personally despise mornings and I can be a bit of a procrastinator as well. To her father’s dismay, my daughter seems to have acquired those traits from me also, which means that mornings, more often than not, are rushed at the very least.
Usually it’s goes a little like this. My son’s alarm goes off first because he’s in High School and has the longest commute. Thank goodness at almost 17 he’s pretty self sufficient and usually doesn’t need my assistance in the mornings. At least one of us has their ducks in a row! About the time he leaves for school, my first alarm goes off. That’s also the cue for all five of the dogs to wake up and want out of their crates to head outside immediately. Now mind you, they’ll sleep until nine or ten in the morning if no alarms are set; they hear the alarm and they lose their minds because they know we’re awake. Jerks…
Once I’ve stumbled to the back door and let the pack of hounds out to scare away the morning frost, I usually have about 10-15 minutes to get my face on, my hair brushed, and some kind of outfit that’s not pajamas thrown together before alarm number two goes off. When that happens, things get real. Alarm number two means it’s time to get the youngest of the clan out of bed and very gently ease her toward getting ready for school. This is a very delicate process and can really determine the direction of the entire day. This is not a drill folks.
As you can probably gather, time for breakfast during the week is kind of a joke, but I for one, need something to help fuel up for the day because this coordinated chaos that is our morning routine, is just act one. I’m a big fan of convenient and portable options for days like this and Jimmy Dean Simple Scrambles® breakfast cups have changed the way I do breakfast for the better.
I can make a delicious breakfast on the go in under two minutes with Jimmy Dean Simple Scrambles! Experiencing the taste of a hot, satisfying weekend breakfast, even on a hectic weekday is kind of life changing. All you have to do is pour in the eggs, stick it in the microwave to cook, add the meat and/or cheese combination and give it one last turn in the microwave and enjoy!
With no clean up, you can be out the door and ready to start your day. It is the perfect breakfast solution without sacrificing taste or quality. It’s also available at your local Walmart in the refrigerated section (by the bacon…you can’t miss the bacon). Just grab and go with the rest of your normal grocery shopping and your mornings will see a drastic improvement. You can thank me later!
