Focusing On Your Health: It’s More Than A Resolution

A New Year is upon us and everyone is busy determining what words of the years will be with hopes of being a better version of oneself. The biggest and most popular resolution that people engage in for the New Year is always health related. If it’s not a resolution to lose weight, it’s to get to the gym and exercise, or start cooking healthier meals. People make health their priority – as they should – but they seem to only do it when the calendar flips to January 1. The thing is, your health is more than a resolution.

The way that you live your life is going to impact your health. If you love extreme sports, or team sports, you’re going to need to feel strong and healthy to manage the load you are putting on your body. If you are trying to get pregnant, you want your body to be in the best possible condition, which means losing excess fat.   1. Sleep as much as you can. Your rest matters and you need to ensure that you are getting a minimum of eight hours of sleep per night. If you want to improve on that, make changes to your day to day life and you’ll be able to rest better at night.
  2. Eat more green and colorful foods. Filling up on fruit and vegetables before you get to anything else can make a big difference to your health and your energy levels. The more colorful the food, the better it is for you and you’ll feel the benefits right away.
  3. Try to de-stress where you can. If your boss is making life difficult, consider making a change in your career. Stress can have a negative impact on your health overall, stop you from sleeping and push you into low moods. Don’t let it happen to you if you can help it.
  4. Laugh more this year. Being with people who make you feel good on the inside is a great way to feel good about yourself. You deserve to be happy, so embrace it and you’ll find that you smile more, which only serves to lift your mood.

Your health should be a priority for you, but if you need the ball dropping to kick it off, then go into 2020 with your eyes wide open and focusing on your health and welfare!
