Horrible Winter Health Problems

January 22, 2020 by Alison Leave a Comment

Winter is not over yet, and most parts of the world that get cold at this time of year are set to get super cold over the next few weeks. Then we’ll start to head towards the slight warmth of spring that we all know and love. But until then, and right now, you might be battling some of the dreaded winter health problems. It’s just so annoying to go through the months suffering from all of the health issues that come our way. Instead, we want to be able to enjoy the cold winter morning walks, or the crips evenings. However, we find ourselves shivering on the way to work whilst the car warms up, and then rushing to get back home to bed again. The comfort of our home becomes a barrier to all of the rubbish outside. However, you will no doubt not have been able to escape this winter without at least one health issue. So, we’re going to talk about a few of them, and discuss how you might be able to overcome them sooner rather than later!

Hearing Problems

Some people’s ears are really sensitive to the cold. The cold can make all sorts of issues flare up such as ear infections and whatever else you might be prone to. But it begs the question, why are some people far more prone to it than others? It might be that you need further investigation, especially if your hearing is not the best at other times of the year as well. A hearing test can determine whether you need additional support in the form of a hearing aid. Fear not, you can learn more about the fitting process to find out what that might mean. You’d find that it’s now far easier and discreet than ever before, and it will greatly impact your life for the better. If you’ve always struggled with your hearing then this could be the blessing you didn’t know you needed!

Dry Skin Problems

Dry skin is the absolute worst, and some people suffer with it all year round. However, most people just suffer through the winter months. The transition from a warm home or office into the cold every night leads to chapped lips, a dry face and hands, and just general discomfort. However, it can easily be solved with a layer of moisturizer before bed and in the morning. The skin is far more subtle and ready to deal with it then! Making sure you always use Vaseline or some form of chap stick is also essential!

Cold & Flu

If you can escape the winter months without getting a cold or the flu, then you’re lucky. Germs start to come in around September to October, and from then on out it’s a frenzy of sneezing and coughing. For the next winter, prep your body by raising your immune system. Eat well, work out, and take vitamins high in vitamin C to boost that immune system! The better you treat your body throughout the year, the less likely you are to get ill!

What tips and tricks do you have that help you stay healthy during the winter? Let me know in the comments below and thanks for reading!
