The world is still reeling from corona virus, with the pandemic still affecting people’s everyday lives in many ways. While there has been a lot of negative impacts, one of the positives that have come from it is the time to reflect.  For many people, the pandemic has provided a bit of a wake-up call to be healthier. Building strong immune systems is important, while a fit and healthy lifestyle can help you avoid all kinds of conditions that could seriously affect your health in the future.’

As a family, you can develop new habits together to help you all become fitter and healthier. Parents who set an example to their children from a young age can help them develop long-term habits that they’ll take with them even when they leave home. Change the way you eat

As a family, you’ll all have different priorities and commitments that can make it difficult to maintain a balanced diet. From grabbing food on the go to making food that’s quick, convenient, and likely unhealthy, there are some habits that need to be cut to help you all eat better.

There are plenty of things you can do to eat better as a family. You can start by cooking together, using fresh ingredients and learning how to make some of your favorites. A bit of food prep at the beginning of the week will save you a lot of time, and it can help you work in some healthy food swaps for lighter meals too!

Make exercise a regular part of your routine

Keeping fit can be tough, especially if you don’t like exercise! But the key to enjoying fitness involves finding an activity you enjoy. Whether you choose to go walking or swimming as a family, or you get the kids to sign up to some team sports, there are different ways of getting in shape. You can set a good example as parents by taking up running, going to the gym or working out at home.

Family time at breakfast or dinner is the perfect time for you to have some open and honest discussions.
