It’s important to always be aware and pay attention to what is going on in the body. If you can do that, you are going to be much more likely to look after your body properly, and that means a longer and happier life. In particular, you should make sure to pay attention to any pain that you might experience, and to do something about it as soon as possible. In this post, we are going to take a look at some of the main kinds of pain that you might commonly experience, and what they might mean.
Toothache
Let’s start with a common one that everyone hates to get. If you have ever had a toothache, you will know just how painful it really can be. But what is the underlying cause? Toothache can be caused by a number of things, from some kind of trauma to the jaw and skull to something going wrong with a tooth. Specifically, it can be a problem with your root canal, such as an infection that has just started or begun to get worse. In terms of what steps to take, you should obviously go and see a dentist as soon as possible.
Neck Pain
A lot of people have neck pain, and it can happen in a variety of different levels of extremity. That means that you never quite know if it is going to be serious or not. However, if you have neck pain a lot then that might indicate that there is something wrong somewhere. Often, the cause is simply that you have poor posture – either when you are sitting at your desk or when walking, or possibly while lying in bed. Or sometimes, neck pain can be chronic, in which case you might need some help along the way.
Eye Pain
Often, the less common forms of pain are altogether more concerning, because you can’t pinpoint why they are occurring. That is certainly true of eye pain, which is thankfully not something that you will find happens very many times in your life. When it does happen, though, you should pay close attention to it, as it could be something like conjunctivitis, which is something that needs immediate treatment. It could also be some form of inflammation. Either way, make sure that you don’t overlook it and that you get it sorted out as soon as possible.
Liver Pain
Have you ever had a night of heavy drinking, and woken up the following day to some pain in your side? That was almost certainly liver pain, and it is a sign that you have put your liver under too much stress in one go. The liver is made for working with toxins, but it has a limit, and if you are experiencing pain in the liver, it is usually a sign that you need to cut down on alcohol. If you also have yellowing of the skin and cornea, fatigue, and dark urine, you should consider this more serious still.
