If you’ve always dreamed of having body confidence, you need to be prepared to work on it consistently. Body confidence does not come from having a super slim or curvy figure – it comes from your mindset first and foremost. Anybody can have body confidence by changing their mindset and outlook. Let’s take a look at a few things you should know if you want to achieve body confidence once and for all.
Your Insecurities Are Not Yours
Any insecurities you have are not yours. Your insecurities were given to you! Nobody is born with body insecurities, they are put there by the media, and even sometimes family and friends. There’s a reason most women hate their cellulite or any wobbly areas, and it’s because the media has taught us over the years that it’s something to be ashamed of and ridiculed for. Without the media tearing women down for their looks constantly, we would all be a lot more confident. Unfortunately, many of these beliefs are deeply ingrained because of how ingrained in our society they are. You may want to visit fat reduction doctors to get your ‘ideal body’, but if you’re not already in the right mindset, you’ll likely end up wanting many more procedures. While there’s nothing wrong with getting work done if you want it for the right reasons, you absolutely need to be sure that you are not going to get addicted. You’ll soon realize that changing things about your body doesn’t bring eternal happiness.
Wear Clothes That Make You Feel Good
Don’t listen to magazines when they say you should only wear certain clothes if you’re a particular shape or size. You should wear whatever clothes make you feel your best! Dress each day to make yourself feel good, and you’ll soon realize how beneficial this can be to your mindset.
Your Body Can Do Cool Stuff – Appreciate It!
Become best friends with your body and regularly list the great things it can do and has done for you. Use affirmations to change your mindset when you’re feeling low. Rather than thinking about your ‘chunky legs’, appreciate how your legs have carried you throughout your life. Appreciate all of the things your body can do without you even needing to think about it!
It’s a Journey
Loving yourself is a journey – it’s not something that can happen right away. You may decide you want to have a better relationship with yourself on Day 1, and feel like a failure on Day 2. It’s fine – the journey is not linear. Just bring your attention back to what you’re trying to achieve and try to flip your mindset to find the good in the supposed imperfections you can see. Interrupting negative, toxic thoughts and replacing them takes work, but you can do it! Become more mindful of your self talk and you’ll find it easier.
Do Nice Things For Yourself Regularly
Treat yourself to nice baths, nice products, and nice meals. Drink water, move in a way you enjoy, and make sure you relax, too. Treat yourself like you would a friend. You deserve it!
