Who loves free stuff? This girl!! Anyone who knows me at all knows that I love freebies and finding killer deals makes me giddy with excitement. I adore yard sales, thrift stores, and eBay. (I sell a lot on eBay in addition to buying, but I’ll write more about what I love about eBay in another post so keep an eye out for that.) Well, since I love to try out new things, especially for free, a couple of years ago I signed up on a site called House Party. I found the site after reading a friend of mine’s post (check her blog Sunshine and Sippy Cups out if you haven’t already — it’s awesome!). Anyway, I’m super glad I checked it out because in addition to killer deals, I love having parties or even just a reason for all my close friends and family to come over and hang out.
Basically what happens when you sign up with House Party is the site lists the upcoming parties and all the important details. You can have an e-mail sent to you when applications for a new party are open so that you don’t miss your chance. You fill out a short form to apply and if you’re selected to host the party you get awesome party packs filled with goodies for you and your guests. You don’t get picked for every party that you apply for, but so far I’ve hosted three parties and just got picked for my 4th – so roughly something new every six months or so. The best part is you get to hang out with all your friends and try these awesome products for free, get tons of awesome goodies and coupons for your guests and then you get to keep or share the products. Did I mention it’s all FREE? I’m not finding a problem with that. So far I’ve hosted a Fisher-Price Joy of Learning Playdate and most of the items we were able to test out, my daughter still plays with today; a Hasbro’s Happier New Year Game Night which was a total blast; and the Nerf Super Soaker Block Party which happened to be right around my son’s 11th Birthday so we combined the two parties…can you say FUN!
The party I just received notification that I have been chosen for is the B-Daman Battle Master Party which I think is going to go over really well with my 11 year old son, his cousins, and friends. From what I know of these characters and toys they are a spinoff of the Beyblade line by Hasbro and all the kids seem to absolutely love those. I know my son had a pretty good collection so I bet B-Daman will be the next big hit at our house. I will definitely be posting my review after our party is over. I better start planning…. ~Alison
