{I received some awesome free swag from #DisneySide to throw a #DisneySide @Home Celebration coordinated by Disney Parks and MomSelect, but all opinions are 100% my own.}
Can’t afford a vacation? Or maybe you just got back or have one planned for later in the year and you just can’t wait to partake in everything Disney? Do not fret my friends, you can show your Disney Side and have a blast from the comfort of your own home without spending a ton of money. That’s exactly what we did a couple weekends ago, and let me tell you, it was so much fun for the kids and even the adults. Oddly enough, planning what we would do was just as much fun as the party itself, because really, how can anything Disney not be fun!?
How We Showed Our Disney Side
Not sure what to do? At first I wasn’t either because when it comes to Disney, there are so many possibilities! What I did know is that we wanted to keep it somewhat simple (and obviously budget friendly) because when you get too complex, sometimes it’s hard to enjoy the party yourself…it can become more work than fun and we definitely didn’t want that.
One super simple and super cool thing we ended up doing was the food. Of course there were Brave themed cupcakes and Disney décor. One other thing we did and that you can do is, get yourself a few cookie cutters (the ones that I received in the celebration kit retail for $17.50 for a 3 pack at Amazon) and you have some super easy Disney themed snacks. Don’t limit yourself by thinking that cookie cutters are only for cookies either – check out the cheese slices I cut out to go with some lunch meat and slider buns for snack sized sandwiches.
Then of course you need some Disney themed games. What about Disney Trivia or Disney Bingo? You could even make your own Disney Bingo cards by finding photos online and printing the bingo cards out on your home printer. Just a few bucks spent for paper and ink and a little of your time to create them. How easy and fun is that? We used some Bingo cards that were provided in the celebration pack and we had a ton of fun with them!
We incorporated our Disney Side at Home Celebration with my nieces 9th Birthday Party and let me tell you, all the girls (and a couple boys) had a blast!
If you want to throw your own party, check out the Disney Side Celebrations website for some more awesome ideas. I definitely want to say thank you to Disney Parks and MomSelect for coordinating all these wonderful #DisneySide @Home Celebrations, and for allowing us to be a part of the fun. I’ve definitely learned that just because you’re not at Disneyland or Disneyworld, definitely doesn’t mean you can’t have Disney style fun!
What ideas do you have to help show your Disney Side at home? What’s your favorite Disney character, movie, or vacation spot? Let me know in the comments below and thanks for reading!
