A busy mama…that’s definitely what I am. Between work, running this blog, and the kiddo’s obligations at school and Karate, it doesn’t leave a lot of time to focus on household chores. Even if I had all the time in the world though, I must admit, dishes, is one that I have never enjoyed doing. It seemed that no matter how you loaded the dish washer or how well you pre-rinse, there’s always something that didn’t come clean and had to be washed again. That means doing a chore you didn’t want to do to begin with twice! Yay!! At least that’s how I felt until I discovered Cascade Platinum. Since that day, no more pre-washing and everything comes out clean the first time. A busy mom’s dream in a gel filled capsule!
To share this new found miracle in a pod I hosted a little brunch the other day (which conveniently coincided with my little sisters 30th Birthday!) and invited the whole family. If you know my family, you know that’s quite the brood! We had some O.J. and Mimosas, and of course french toast, scrambled eggs, and bacon. Delicious to eat, but those dishes with all that syrup and cooked on egg are a bugger to wash!
Check out the egg pan…looks like it might be better off in the garbage right? Well, no pre-wash necessary with Cascade Platinum because it actually works better when there is some food left on the dish for it to attach to an clean. It contains special enzymes that latch onto the food, breaking it down so it can wash away. Without food soil, there is nothing for the enzymes to attach to and the detergent isn’t working its hardest for you. That little detail alone made me giddy with excitement — I mean what a time saver right?!
The question of the day though, was “can Cascade Platinum really clean all that stuck on crud off with no help??” The answer is yes!! It absolutely can and these pictures speak for themselves. My guests were definitely impressed and stoked to find out that they got to take home a pack of Cascade Platinum and a bottle of the rinse aid for themselves. (I’m sure everyone had some shiny clean dishes after getting home that night!)
Of course you know I try to include all my readers in the fun whenever possible so I’m giving away an awesome Cascade Platinum prize pack to one of you as well! This giveaway ends 10/20/14 at 11:59 pm PST so make sure to complete the Rafflecopter form below for your chance to win:

October 13, 2014 at 12:08 pmWhen loading the dishwasher, don’t overload and make sure all surfaces are where the water will be able to get to them. We’ve had a dishwasher for nearly 30 years (not the same one – we’ve had to replace it a couple of times), and you’d think other family members would have learned how to properly load the dishwasher, but it never fails that if anyone else puts something in the dishwasher, I virtually always have to reposition it. It’s frustrating!

October 16, 2014 at 1:16 amMy tip is to maintain your dishwasher. Be sure to clean out the food filter or filters as required or as often as the manual indicates. With our dishwasher, I can take out the main filter by removing a couple of screws and clips and get to another filter that gets food builtup on it and needs cleaning about every 6 months or so.
