Skincare…it’s a never ending battle right ladies? I know for me it is. I’ve mentioned in the past that when I was younger, I had horrible skin. Then when I hit my 20’s everything seemed to clear up and I had pretty great skin. Then in my early 30’s I had my second child and what I thought was pregnancy related acne never went completely away. Of course my skin is no longer as tight and youthful as it used to be either, which is expected, but not necessarily embraced in open arms. It’s been three years…I’ve pretty much used everything, cleansers, spot treatment, complete skincare systems, creams, wraps, and while some have helped, nothing really ever did everything it claimed to do. Will anything ever be a miracle product? Probably not but I have found a couple of new items that I’m become pretty fond of the more and more I use them.
Meet My New Favorite Cleanser from Vivant Skin Care
As important as skincare is, for me it’s hard and a lot of times it can be downright depressing. Not so much the doing it, but finding things that actually work. As I mentioned, before I had my daughter a little over three years ago, I was finally to the point of not having issues with my skin — you know I was a grown up. The occasional blemish maybe, but nothing that stuck around or was really that big of a deal. After my daughter however, that all changed. I don’t know if it was the change in hormones, the fact that I’m not getting any younger, or the increased stress with my career, kids, and responsibility of being a real adult, but my skin has not been forgiving.
Finding a cleanser that both cleans and keeps breakouts at bay without drying my skin out has been challenging to say the least. I recently began using a new 3-in-1 exfoliating cleanser by Vivant Skin Care and I’m thrilled to report that it has met my challenge and so far. My skin is looking great – I’ve even exited the house without make-up. It does dry me out if I use it every single day so I’ve been using it every other day and pairing with a good moisturizer and that seems to be working great. I’ve had a couple of blemishes around that time of the month, but that’s to be expected and they cleared up with a spot treatment rather quickly.
The Benefits of Vivant Skin Care Mandelic 3-in-1 Exfoliating Cleanser
From the manufacturer: this powerful yet gentle antioxidant wash has Mandelic derived from almonds, green tea extract, grape seed, kiwi fruit and honey extracts. Mandelic is ideal for adult acne because of it’s anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-fungal properties. On blotchy skin it “lifts” skin discolorations and dark spots, while also having the benefical side effect of rejuvenating fine lines by helping to generate new collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid. A powerful yet gentler form of Alpha Hydroxy Acid, Mandelic is also ideal for treating sensitive skin that becomes irritated by benzoyl peroxide products. Combines exfoliating beads with Mandelic Acid to restore healthy skin. Great daily face and body cleanser for adult acne with oily skin. So far, after about a month of consistent use, I have to agree and will continue to use this cleanser in the future.
Derma Roller
I didn’t know much about these to begin with. I’d heard of them, but not used or really even researched them until I had the opportunity to try this one out. This is not something that will produce results overnight. You’ll have to be patient which is something I’m not good at, but some things, like slowing down the aging process, are worth the wait. The Derma Roller (a.k.a. skin roller or microneedle roller) is a hand-held device which has the ability to naturally stimulate collagen and elastin in the skin to promote healthier skin cells in the body. Using 200 extremely fine medical-grade needles, the dermaroller painlessly creates microchannels in your skin which trigger the body’s natural healing process to create new, healthier tissue to replace the imperfections of older skin. By renewing your skin cells regularly, you will be able to treat common problems we experience as we age such as wrinkles, skin hyperpigmentation, scars (including acne scars), uneven skin, stretch marks (usually developed after pregnancy), hair loss or it can simply be used to create smoother skin.
How Derma Roller Works
In order for our skin to have a smooth and healthy glow, it must continually be replenished with new cells. The Derma Roller System renews your skin cells from the inside out by using Collagen Induction Therapy (C.I.T.). This is a process where the dermarollers’ 200 fine medical-grade needles are rolled over your skin to cause pores in your skin to open temporarily. It sounds painful, but it’s really not. The feeling takes a bit to get used to, but I wouldn’t say it actually hurts. While your pores are opened, it triggers your body’s natural healing process to heal the pores thereby stimulating collagen and elastin production. The production of collagen and elastin helps to thicken the skin, smooth away fine lines and wrinkles and rid the skin of hyperpigmentations. In approximately one to two hours after the application of the dermaroller, these micro-channels fully close through the body’s natural healing process, providing just enough time for new collagen structures to form within the skin’s lower layers, but short enough recovery time to ensure the resumption of your normal schedule. By continuously triggering the body’s natural healing process this way, your skin constantly stimulates collagen and elastin production needed to help restore and remodel your skin on a cosmetic level. Makes total sense right? Now I’ve only been using this a couple of weeks, but I can already see a bit of a difference in the areas I’ve tried it (no I am not showing you a pic of my stretch marks so you’ll just have to take my word for it). Now it’s by no means erased time, but we’ll see what a few more weeks brings because they say about 6 weeks is how long it takes to really see results.
So tell me, what are your current favorite beauty or skin care products? I’m always looking to check out something I haven’t tried before. Do you think this cleanser or the Derma Roller is something that would address an issue you’re having? Let me know in the comments below and thanks for reading!
