I received an amazing assortment of products Damsel in Defense Rep Karen Johnson in exchange for my honest review. All opinions and my love for empowering women is 100% my own.
Okay ladies…those of you that know me know that I usually carry. You should also know that I don’t try to push my opinions on firearms on anyone – to each their own. Some people are not comfortable with guns and those people shouldn’t be carrying them around. I do think regardless of your feelings on firearms in general though, all ladies should be aware of things they can do to increase their level of personal protection. I mean lets face it…if we were to be attacked by a male, and even some females, there’s a good chance we would be overpowered unless we’re prepared to protect ourselves somehow.
For individuals that don’t carry all the time or at all, there are other ways. Taking self-defense courses or martial arts training is never a bad idea. In fact its an awesome activity that the whole family can participate in. There are also other tools out there that are designed specifically to keep you ladies just a little safer and more prepared. I’d like to introduce you to Damsel in Defense.
What Is Damsel in Defense?
Damsel in Defense is a direct sales company with a very unique mission…to equip women with products that can protect them, empower women to protect themselves, and to educate women about personal protection and self defense. Now that’s a mission this girl can get behind!
What kind of products are we talking about you ask? Well, let me show you the three that I had the privilege of reviewing. They include the Get a Grip 7.5 Million Volt Stun Gun (that just sounds bad ass right?!), the Step Off Door Alarm, and the Road Trip Emergency Auto Tool.
The Step Off Door Alarm is a 120 Decibel Alarm that is designed to wake you if someone tries to open your door. It resembles a door stop, and you simply place it by your door, and if someone tries to push it open, it sets the alarm off. This is perfect for apartments or dorm rooms and even hotel rooms if you ladies are ever traveling alone.
The Road Trip Emergency Auto Tool, is also pretty awesome. I personally think this is something that manly men could get some use out of too, but you ladies will definitely want to throw on in the ole glove box. It has a pointed steel hammer to break glass for emergency escape, a seat-belt cutting blade, built in magnets to hold the emergency flasher on top of your vehicle, and of course a flashlight and 85-decibel alarm. It’s also water resistant because you know when you break down, it’s going to be raining and dark, not sunny and warm! This would be a great graduation gift for any of those teens taking off to college or just summer road trips.
Of course I saved my favorite for last, the Get A Grip 7.5 Million Volt Stun Gun! This baby is awesome. It’s powerful, it’s compact, and is it crazy that I love the color? Just goes to show you pink (or purple) doesn’t mean weak! In addition to the electric shock head, this has a flashlight (I mean you need to see where you’re shocking right?), and a built in charger. That’s right! It comes with pre-installed rechargeable batteries so you just plug it into the wall for 8 hours every 30 days and you’re good to go!
If you’re interested in learning more about the products or even interested in joining the Damsel in Defense team (I know a lot of you ladies are into direct sales), make sure you check out Karen’s website or give her some Facebook love!
It sounds like a great idea. I am 5 months out from getting my black belt in krav maga, so I have it covered when it comes to self defense, but I know I am an exception.
Wow, these are great products that every woman needs. I know I would feel better if my wife was carrying these defense items in her purse!
Personally I would love to have that stun gun with me–especially when I am walking from my car to the outside apartment bldg door at night-it is spooky back there! I would have to check out if it is legal in NY—my guess is it is not.
Looks like a great stuff, I’ve never heard this before looks really awesome, my wife would love this.
These look like items that all people, not just women could benefit from when in a sticky situation.
This product looks very interesting, anyone could make a good use of this. Seatbealt cutter, steel hammer, emergency light and flash light all in one handy tool!
Those are excellent products for women. I like the flash light idea as it can be very handy
Wow these are some fantastic products. I wouldn’t even think about needing them… until maybe it was too late. Thanks for this post.
I surprisingly don’t own anything like either of these but now that I’ve read this, I think I need a stun gun… you just never know what could happen and I need to be prepared!
I read the whole post, it is really informative!!
You have said it right that today; on every point we need to stay prepared every time, because we don’t know that what can happen next.
Since we all are aware of increasing crime rate, keeping such self defense tools can definitely help us in buying some time to call for a help or escape from the attack of the attacker.
In fact I have bought a flashlight stungun for my wife, becuase most of the time she comes late night from her work.
Thank you for sharing such good post with us.
