Pepperoni Pizza Melt + 2 More Easy Sandwiches for Busy Days

September 21, 2015 by Alison 17 Comments

Thank you to Nature’s Harvest®  for sponsoring this post. All opinions and my love for nutritious, delicious foods is my own.

Lunch, snacks, dinner, another snack…it seems like someone is always hungry and wanting to eat around my place.  Seriously I could be making something for someone 24/7 if I let them have their way. Some days I feel like a short order cook because nobody ever wants the same thing and while for our main meals, everyone eats what I make or they make their own, which it comes to the lighter stuff I think it’s okay for everyone to be able to have  a little variety. Believe it or not it can be done pretty easily so I challenge you to “mix it up” in an easy way that will save them time in the kitchen and be a healthy choice for your family. I’m offering up three of my fave sandwich creations to get your started!

Pepperoni Pizza Melt

You may remember my Chicken, Bacon, Avacado on Honey Wheat sandwich was a huge hit with my family. Just a few special touches to was was previously just a “regular” sandwich and a little help from Nature’s Harvest® and we’ve got a big win for mom and full bellies all around!

Not an avacado fan? Bacon a bit much? I also love this Chipotle Turkey Sandwich. Get some fancy cheese and some chipotle mayo and a ho-hum turkey sandwich has just been kicked up a notch!

Pepproni Pizza Melt

This one, this is definitely my current favorite. I’m not going to lie and say I thought it up all by myself, in fact I saw a video floating around Facebook and I had to try it for myself. I loved it, my family loved it, even the picky boy child who refuses to eat sandwiches ever  (unless they’re peanut butter and grape jelly) ate it so that’s a big win! It’s super easy and even the kids can help.

Ingredients

Natures Harvest Bread

 Butter

Pepperoni Slices

Marinara Sauce

Mozzeralla Cheese Slices

Directions

I used my griddle, but you can use a skillet too, just like a regular grilled cheese. I buttered one side of my Nature’s Harvest whole grain white bread (currently on roll back for $1.97 at WalMart) and started toasting it. I love Nature’s Harvest as my bread choice because you’re guaranteed 8g of whole grains per serving and you’re family will never be any the wiser!

ButterYourBread

While one side is toasting I spread the marinara and layered the cheese and pepperoni on the other side of the bread and put the sandwiches together.

I continued toasting the bread on the outside until it was browning and the cheese was melted and then you’re done. It doesn’t really get any easier than that and you have yourself a cheesy, delicious, pepperoni pizza melt with a huge helping of your daily whole grain intake!

Nature’s Harvest also wants to know what you think about whole grains by taking a 10 minute opt-in shopper research survey, for which $5 Walmart gift cards will go to the first 100 people that fully complete the survey (U.S. citizens only, must be 18 years or older to participate). The survey can be found at: http://NaturesHarvestBreadSurvey.com.

This is great for the days I want pizza but dont have dough ready. It would still be cheese and that is the part I like.

I am a vegetarian but I know some eaters that would devour this in 60 seconds flat and then lick the plate clean!
