I don’t know if ya’ll have noticed but I shop a lot. In addition to this blog, I am an Amazon Reviewer and a loyal Amazon customer. That means I’m ordering something just about every single day. For that reason alone, Amazon Prime and the free shipping options that come with it were a must for me. I’ve been an Amazon Prime subscriber for several years now and it seems like I’m always learning about some new feature or perk that I didn’t realize I had. I figure I can’t be the only one who started out thinking the shipping perks were the most important Amazon Prime feature, but I’m here to tell you that’s not even close.
Here are a few of the other things that make an Amazon Prime subscription a no-brainer for my household:
- Instant Video
- Music Streaming
- Kindle Library
- Amazon Pantry / Subscribe & Save Services
- Amazon Cloud Drive
Amazon Cloud Drive lets customers securely back up and store their existing content collections and automatically upload endless amounts of new content, including photos, videos, movies, music, and files. If you’re photo and video happy like me, more storage space is something you can never have enough of. To make things easy, Amazon Cloud Drive can be accessed via the web on Mac, PC, and tablets. Just go to Amazon.com/clouddrive or Amazon.com/primephotos to get started. Of course there’s an app for that and it’s available on both Android and iOS devices, which automatically backs up your camera roll – freeing up valuable space on your device, so you can take even more pictures and videos!
Now I have no idea why you wouldn’t, but you don’t have to be an Amazon Prime member to get access, but if you are, you already have access to Amazon Cloud Drive with Prime Photos, which provides unlimited photo storage as part of your Prime membership. In addition, Prime members get 5 GB of additional storage space for videos, movies, music, and files. If you’re not sure but want to see if it’s something that would fit your needs, Amazon recently announced two pretty stellar unlimited storage plans, both start with a free 3-month trial so you really have nothing to lose by simply checking it out:
-
- Unlimited Everything Plan ($59.99 per year—equivalent of less than $5 per month): Store an infinite number of new and existing photos, videos, files, documents, movies, and music in Cloud Drive.
- Unlimited Photos Plan ($11.99 per year—equivalent of less than $1 per month): Similar to the Prime member benefit – non Prime members can also store an infinite number of photos in Cloud Drive without worrying about taking up space on phones, cameras, or other devices. This plan also includes 5 GB of additional storage for videos or other documents and files.
What takes up the most storage space on your devices? Is more cloud storage something that your family needs? Let me know in the comments below and thanks for reading!

I’m always impressed with the services provided by Amazon. My favorite is the Amazon Pantry, what a boon to people with special needs.
I am a Prime member as well, and I had no idea about this. What a great service! I definitely want to check it out.
I had it and loved it. I don’t like that they automatically renew (because I forgot that was going to happen), but I still like the service.
I love Amazon Prime! Free two day shipping is great, but I love their video and music streaming selections.
I love Amazon. We have an Echo and it is our favorite thing ever!
I’m going into my 3rd year I think with Amazon Prime. It’s well worth it for me!
I use Amazon all the time! I need to try that! Thank you for sharing it!
