Ahhh…beauty. It’s in the eye of the beholder right? I don’t disagree that what’s beautiful is different to everyone, but as a woman, I know that natural beauty (aka no makeup for real) doesn’t always feel beautiful. I’m not trying to sit here and say that anyone is ugly if they don’t choose to wear makeup – not at all, but I personally am kind of a make-up junkie and I actually think wearing makeup and creating different looks is fun. Yes, it is fun to spend hours in the bathroom seeing what combinations I can come up with. There are some days though that I don’t feel like spending hours. Some those days I simply don’t wear makeup (seems like those are more and more common the older I get), but some days I need to put a little effort in so a “natural” look is what I opt for. In the past that’s kind of been a toned down version of my regular players, but I’ve recently had the opportunity to try out some of the amazing pallets and products from Pixie Beauty and I’m definitely hooked.
Glow Tonic Exfoliating Toner – This toner indicates that it’s Alcohol Free, contains 5% Glycolic, Aloe Vera and Ginseng. It does a great job of making my face feel clean and smooth and I do like making it the last product I use before my moisturizer each day. It gives me a fresh feeling before heading to bed in the evening and I’ve had no adverse reactions to it so if you are looking for something that works but isn’t harsh, this may be something worth checking out.
Cat Eye Ink – This is an intense black eye pen. It is elongated to give you that cat eye slant that everyone strives for. The liner goes on smoothly and has staying power. It’ great for a bold or night out look. The box claims 12 hour stay and I’d give it close to that, however since it’s a liquid pen liner, I don’t know if that would hold true in warmer months as I haven’t had the opportunity to use it that time of year. As you can see though, there’s a great transition from thick to thin so it’s a great tool to have in the eye makeup arsenal.
Endless Silky Eye Pens – Another eyeliner, but more of a gel pencil than the Cat Eye Ink. I love the way this glides on effortlessly and you can make it as light or dark as you want. This one has staying power and has very few issues with smudging so far (like only if I haul off and rub my eyes without thinking what I’m doing). This one comes in a variety of shades (black, brown, plum, and gray) so there’s a color for everyone and every look.
Matte Luster Lipsticks – I’m currently a big fan of Matte’s so these lipsticks were perfect. The colors are neutral enough that anyone can wear them. The go on easily, they look smooth and the color is rich once applied, and they stay put pretty well even without a lip liner (I don’t use liners that often), and I tend to only have to re-apply once a day, usually in the afternoon. Not to bad really as I haven’t found any lip color that requires zero touch ups that doesn’t dry out my lips, which this does not do.
Natural Contour Kit – This may be my very favorite little kit right now. It’s really got everything you need to achieve naturally contoured cheeks and eyes. It’s has four face and eight eye shades, The face shades include contour powder, highlighters and bronzers so you can achieve a perfectly contoured look that’s natural looking and you! The eye shades mid tones, highlighters, shimmers, and mattes so you can come up with a combo ideal for any occasion. As someone who travels quite a bit, but likes to travel light, this will definitely be my go to pallet for the upcoming travel season.
