What have you heard about feeding raw, or the ancestral diet, when it comes to your pups? I’ve heard more and more about it in the last few years and what I do know is that it can be very healthy for man’s (or woman’s) best friend. I also know that it can be a lot of work to feed an exclusively raw diet to your pet. In my case take that and multiply it by five. Yeah, I’d go bankrupt and have to quit my job just to keep them all fed properly. That doesn’t mean I don’t want to do what’s best for them nutritionally though so what are the alternatives? I mean regular dog foods, as healthy as they may be, and some are amazing, just aren’t the same as feeding raw, or an ancestral diet.

Ancestral Diet And Pets

On my last trip to PetSmart (which literally is like twice a week…I seriously should just work there), I found out there is a way to get the benefits of feeding raw without the hassle. Instinct® has realized that when considering feeding raw, it doesn’t have to be all or nothing and they have developed a solution for pet parents that’s both affordable and convenient. (Man I love being able to use both of those words in the same sentence!)

Instinct Raw Boost PetSmart

Instinct® Raw Boost® Mixers make it easy to add protein-packed raw to your pet’s regular kibble. I know we all want our fur-kids to be healthy and happy and Instinct Raw Boost Mixers is all natural, freeze dried raw nutrition that’s still convenient and easy-to-serve.  Instinct Raw Boost Mixers are grain free and provide pure animal protein for lean muscles and strong bones, natural ingredients for optimal nutrient absorption, and nutritious oils for healthy skin and coat.  Your pups are going to have more energy and they’re just going to feel and look great. You’re going to love it and your pets will think you’re the best dog mom or dad ever!

Feeding Instinct Raw Boost Mixers is super easy. You just add a little to whatever you currently feed your pets (wet or dry food) and you’re done. They’re happy, you’re happy, we all win.

Of course we all know I’m the queen of convenience so I absolutely love how easy this is to add to my pups diet. Even with five hounds running around, it’s no more difficult than my normal feeding routine (which I’m sure you can guess is a bit chaotic sometimes!). The pieces are very soft so even our old man who has very few teeth can eat it. This makes me very happy because there are a lot of things the other dogs get that he can’t have simply because he cannot chew them well…this isn’t one of those things. For my dry kibble eaters, I just add the Mixers to the top of their bowls and for my two wet food diners, I just stirred the Mixers in. We are using both the lamb and the turkey formulas and so far everyone seems to love them both, even my pickiest eater has had no complaints.

As you can see, Miss Ellie Mae is ready for dinner! (What you don’t see here is that it took me about 30 shots to get one where she was sitting remotely still – she kept picking up the bag of Mixers and heading to the kitchen — I really should have taken some video!) To learn more about Instinct Raw Boost Mixers you can find plenty of information here and be sure to check them out on Facebook.  Interested and ready to give it a try?  Instinct Raw Boost Mixers are currently on sale at PetSmart until January 31st. Right now you can pick some up for for 20% off the 4oz bag and 3 for $5 for the trial size. You really can’t go wrong there!

Have you ever considered feeding your pups a raw or ancestral diet? What are your feelings about it and would Instinct Raw Boost Mixers be a good compromise for your family? Let me know in the comments below and thanks for reading!

I do not own any pups, but my good friend just adopted an adorable one two week-ends ago. I’ll make sure to share you post with her as I am positive it will be helpful in trying to raise her new baby!

I have a sweet pup that I am always looking for the right food for her. Her diet is very important to me. What she puts into her body is just as important as my diet. Excited to check this out.

I have never had dogs. We have two cats and we stick to Vet food, both wet and dry. It works the best for them. We tried Blue Natural a few years ago because I fell for the marketing about how good all the natural ingredients were for pets. Our 2 cats ate it at first, but 2 days later they were extremely ill and stopped eating it. We returned it and put them back to Vet food, and they are completely healthy.

I have seen these at the store! They are such great ways for boosting the protein in your pets diet. I am certainly interested in giving them a try for my dogs!

This dog food looks great! I have a very picky dog. I’ve to change dog food brand for many times just to find the right one for her. I think this dog food is a great addition to my list.

I don’t have a dog, but I do have a 13 year old cat and I generally follow my vet’s advice regarding his diet. I haven’t heard of a raw diet for cats, but now I’m curious. I’ll have to see if this is a thing in Europe.

I am a big advocate of feeding our pets well and for feeding them the right things! I haven’t heard of this before, but I will definitely be checking it out now!

my boxer boy can always use more nutrition. I like how simple these additives are…even if his food is already healthy, these may help him even more. 🙂
