Mother’s Day is tomorrow and here I am, as usual scrambling around at the last minute trying to find the perfect mother’s day gift for all the mom’s in my life. Horrible right? Something I’ve learned is that holidays like this always sneak up on you so in an attempt to be a better mom, wife, daughter and friend I’m going to start budgeting for these days just like any other important part of life. In my own mind if I put aside a little bit into a “holiday” fund, I won’t be so blindsided like I seem to be…you know when the same days to celebrate come around at the same time every single year…sneaky little devils!
Being able to show your appreciation can sometimes be made harder even when mom’s not close by. Maybe you’re adventurous years left you living on different sides of the country or maybe Mom’s the adventurous one and is off traveling and showing the ponies. That sure adds an element of difficulty to the whole “perfect” gift situation. I have both – a mom who is sometimes traveling and a mom that lives 2000 miles away so as much as spending the day with them would be ideal, it’s not always possible, but I can still make sure I get them what they want or what they need, even at a distance with PayPal and Xoom.
Xoom, a PayPal service, powers international payments to friends and family in more than 40 countries around the world and the number one recipient of payments on Xoom is Mom. PayPal and Xoom help me to manage and move money quickly if I need to. That means that even when I forget until the last minute, I can get something to them even if they’re out of town or out of the country. Xoom is the only remittances company that offers instant disbursements and you can select multiple ways for loved ones to receive money including bank transfers, cash pick-up or delivery, bill pay and mobile reload. If they’re away and things go upside down, I can help in an instant knowing that any funds I send or receive are safe and secure and that makes me feel pretty good.
If that’s not enough, PayPal even has some awesome last minute Mother’s Day deals that you can send electronically including e-gift cards and items from their digital gift store . Deals like $10 off $50 at Bits of Vintage (4/24/16 – 5/8/16). I’m going to be checking those out right now because I’ve basically failed at life this week – thank goodness PayPal is able to help bail me out of this one! If you want to see what deals are out there you can find them at paypal.com/mothersday.
