Thank you to Cheerios™ for sponsoring this post. All opinions and my love for sweet treats and summer days is 100% my own.
I think that most family’s would agree, that as busy as the school year is, summer is often times absolute chaos. Either there are camps and friends and the babysitter lottery to contend with, or kids are hungry, bored and need to be entertained. Sometimes it seems like there’s just no happy medium right? For me, I feel like there’s is no break because I still have to go to my job but on the days I am home, I try to do something special with or for the kids.
My daughter is a big time cereal eater (okay we all kind of are…I mean it’s easy when there things to do that are way more fun than cooking!). Her favorite cereal is Cheerios™ so we always have a box or two on hand. One of our favorite breakfast or snack treats to make together are these Cheerios™, Fruit & Yogurt parfaits. They’re perfect for taking out on the porch and enjoying while we soak up the sun and breathe some fresh air outside and they’re super easy to make and “customize” to everyone’s taste buds.
First stop is your local Walmart because they have everything you need to make summer just about perfect, including a lovely selection of Cheerios™ in their cereal aisle. You can also find the rest of your parfait ingredients there which is handy because I hate having to go to a ton of stores for just a few things.
Cheerios, Fruit & Yogurt Parfaits
Ingredients
Cheerios™ – (Honey Nut Cheerios™ and Frosted Cheerios™ are my faves, but you just do you!)
Lg. Container of Your Favorite Yogurt
Fresh Berries of your choosing
Directions
Some people start with the yogurt, but you see there is no right or wrong way to enjoy your Cheerios™ this summer, so I like to start with the cereal. I like that extra little bit of crunch at the bottom so the first thing I do is layer my cereal at the bottom of my parfait glass.
Next add a healthy layer of yogurt over the top of your cereal. I like to make this layer good and thick so that there’s enough to go around for both the cereal on the bottom and the berries that I like to add on the top. Adding the berries is actually the final step in making this delicious summer breakfast or snack .
Doesn’t that look delicious and just refreshing enough for summer? Now grab a coupon and go stock up – summers going to fast and there is still a ton of fun to be had out there!
