Thank you to Bay Alarm Medical for sponsoring this post. All opinions are 100% my own.
Busy doesn’t even begin to describe life lately. I’ve noticed that it’s just not me and my family either – pretty much everyone I know has too many irons in the fire and feels like they just don’t have enough hours in their days. What happens though when your cup already runneth over and another obligation gets piled on your plate? When that job is caring for your ageing loved one, a parent or a grandparent, there’s not much to do except make it happen right? I mean they took care of us now it’s time for us to take care of them; but that need for care doesn’t excuse us of out other responsibilities. Now what do we do when we know we can’t be a round the clock watchful eye, yet the need is there – you know just in case. That’s where Bay Alarm Medical comes in.
Recently my husbands Grandmother has moved in next door to us with my in-laws. She’s had an amazing life, but as of late she’s been battling Dementia and had a few falls. The last of which was the the wake up call that it was time for the family to be taking care of her after her many years of taking care of them. But even moving her into my in-laws home wasn’t quite enough because despite everyone’s desire to keep a watchful eye one Grandma and make sure she’s safe, there are jobs, kids, and animals, and clubs, and other obligations that can’t just be thrown to the wayside. Bay Alarm Medical is how we’ve been making all of this work. When there are times that someone can’t be at home with Grandma or even if they just take a quick trip down the driveway to the mailbox, Bay Alarm Medical is around to keep a watchful eye on our loved ones.
Installing the system was easy peasy – it took my husband all of about 30 minutes to do and now we have the peace of mind knowing help is just a phone call away if the worst were to happen. We literally just had to plug our phone into Bay Alarm Medical Box and then the box into the phone jack on the wall and we were done.
A quick test with the push of the easily identifiable HELP button and we were all set up. We placed the extra HELP button near the bathroom door since that’s where we want to be extra safe and courtesy of a bluetooth connection, that along with a necklace and/or bracelet button, Grandma is covered and we can breathe a little easier when we have to direct our attention elsewhere for a bit.
Bay Alarm Medical set a Vial of Life in their kit, which is a super convenient way to display pertinent medical information for emergency workers should they be called. You simply fill out the information on the card, place on your fridge and they know where to look to find out what they need to know. Pretty snazzy if you ask me!
So far, we’ve had our Bay Alarm Medical device set up for about a month and a half and love knowing that help is just the push of a button away. Fortunately Grandma has really been improving and feeling pretty well most days and we haven’t had to call in emergency aid because that’s what we all want – no issues, but we’re also realistic and know that it’s not if, it’s when the day comes that we do need it, we’re glad to have Bay Alarm Medical on our side!
