Finding ways to beat stress is more important than ever. We all live such stressful lives and it feels like you never have a minute to yourself. But if you don’t keep your stress in check, it can have some serious health consequences. Stress can manifest in different ways for different people. For me, it’s almost always a physical ailment, most commonly nausea, so there are weeks, when the world is heavy on my shoulders, that I literally throw up before I brush my teeth in the mornings to get on with my day. It sucks so learning to deal with stress and anxiety better, has been an absolute necessity for me. I’m still not great at it, but getting better. Just like most things in life, practice makes perfect.
Ideally, we would all have a long break from work to unwind and recharge our batteries every now and again. But in reality, we’re lucky to find a spare half an hour at the end of the day. That’s why you need to use that half an hour to find ways to relax and beat your stress. These are some of the best ways to eliminate stress in 30 minutes or less.
Go For A Run
Exercise is a great stress reliever. When you work out, you release lots of endorphins and your levels of stress hormones reduce, so you will feel much better afterward. It’s also going to make you healthier and help to improve your sleep as well, which has a big impact on stress levels as well. You don’t need to spend hours working out to see the benefits, a half an hour run will still make all the difference so why not grab your trainers instead of sitting down in front of the TV? And if you’re like me, a “run” may be pushing it unless you’re being chased by a bear so a brisk walk can work just as well – you do you and don’t stress yourself out figuring out how to unwind.
Take A Long Bath
Shutting everything out and taking some time for yourself is vital when you are trying to relieve stress. Unfortunately, that can be hard because we’re so connected these days. People are trying to reach us by email and phone wherever we are so leaving your work behind is often easier said than done. That’s why it’s a good idea to run yourself a bath, find a relaxing bath bomb, and spend half an hour to yourself. Sometimes, all you need is some time without distractions and constant stimulation so you can relax properly.
Have A Snack
Comfort eating is a common way to deal with stress but it’s not a healthy solution. These last 50 pounds I’m currently trying to lose can vouch for that. Eating unhealthy foods might make you feel better for a few minutes, but it will make you feel a lot worse afterward. However, if you eat the right foods, it can actually help. There are some great foods I’ve shared in the past, that naturally reduce stress, so if you feel yourself reaching for a snack after a hard day, opt for those instead of the unhealthy comfort foods.
Do Some Yoga
Yoga is so good for relieving stress because it helps you to find some quiet for half and hour and clear your head. But at the same time, you are stretching your muscles and relieving a lot of the physical tension that comes from stress, and that makes a bigger difference than people realize. There are plenty of great yoga videos online that you can do in as little as ten minutes. It’s the ideal way to unwind and beat stress at the end of a hard day.
You don’t need to take a long vacation to beat stress, there are plenty of ways that you can relax and unwind in less than half an hour. Do you have any fast & furious de-stressing tricks? Let me know in the comments below and thanks for reading!
