The Best Careers for People Who Don’t Want to Be Stuck In an Office

March 30, 2021 by Alison Leave a Comment

In this day and age, finding a job that suits you is not easy. However when it comes down to it, one of the most important factors is the environment in which you wish to work. Many of today’s jobs are based in an office. For some people, this suits them well. They enjoy connecting with the same people in the office on a regular basis and knowing that pretty much every day is going to look the same. However, for others that is their idea of hell.

The 9-to-5 office career model it’s not something that suits everybody. People who tend to feel restless and anxious when confined to the same desk every day won’t necessarily suit that. But what careers are designed for people who liked to be active in their daily lives? Maybe do you like to connect with other people every day? Or maybe you’d like to get paid for perfecting your sports technique. Working an active job can give you the variety that you crave.

Here are some examples of the ideal jobs for people who don’t want to be stuck in an office or chained to their computers all day.

A Job On The Road

If you can drive then a career as a driver could well be the perfect match for you. Being on the road, whatever job that is, is an excellent choice for those who like the variety because no day is ever the same. Not only does it give you the versatility you need but that can also prove to be a flexible part of your working day. Many driving jobs on a self-employed basis which has many benefits including being able to choose as and when you want to work.

Examples of driving jobs can include working as a taxi driver, bus or train driver, a delivery driver, or a truck driver for long-haul driving. However, if you require job security then the best option for you would be a truck driver as there is more prospect for regular work this way.

Working in Care

People who dislike the monotony of working in an office every day are more likely to feel that way due to the fact that they don’t get to connect with people. Some of the best jobs for connecting with people are in the care industry. There are a variety of different jobs in care, from looking after babies and young children to caring for disabled or elderly people who require additional support.

The best news is that if someone you know needs care and support, through Consumer-Directed Services, you can be paid to be their carer. You will have the satisfaction of knowing that your loved one is getting the support they need, as well as them knowing that they can trust the person who cares for them.

Other care jobs can include support worker roles, nannying, teacher’s aide or even training to be a teacher for a lifelong career supporting the education and development of kids. Just because you weren’t built for the 9-5 doesn’t mean that you can’t have a fulfilling and prosperous career!
