Does CBD Improve Performance In Sports And Activity?

We know cbd oil can assist with general health, but how about sport and activity? Many athletes find that consuming CBD helps them in so many ways. In fact, cannabidiol helps them improve their performance on a regular basis. Used as an oil before practice, and / or after exercise, CBD can also be used to help them recover. Gradually, CBD is making its way into the world of sport and becoming the new dietary supplement to have urgently.

Anyone who practices or has ever trained seriously in an endurance sport knows how difficult it can be. Pushing your limits to the maximum to be able to be in shape necessarily requires a certain amount of pain to assume and no matter the type of sport.   • Animal testing before concluding that CBD can be an effective pain management tool without many unwanted side effects.

In 2016, a 2016 study from the University of Kentucky looked at the effects of CBD on arthritic rats and found that the compound reduced inflammation and overall pain. In addition, other studies have also valued the neuroprotective aspect of cbd, which suggests that it has the ability to strengthen the brain against the harmful effects of concussion. This is particularly interesting for people who practice combat sports. Cbd oil is increasingly popular with people exercising intensive training, such as MMA, since its benefits can:

  • Reduce pain
  • Reduce post-workout pain
  • Accelerate healing of wounds
  • Improve sleep

Benefits for sportspeople

Our body naturally produces a number of chemicals called endorphins, but it also produces anandamys, a neurotransmitter also known as the “Happiness Molecule”. Classified as a cannabinoid, it is simply a “natural” endo-cannabinoid produced by the body, which means that its molecules completely merge with cannabinoids, other than CBD. When anandamide and cannabinoids bind together it creates a calming and relaxing effect and helps regulate many things in the body including body temperature and pain. This is beneficial after workouts and sporting activities. 

Therefore it is vital to remember that it can be a great product to use in small doses for the right reasons. It can assist with pain and keep you calmer after a long workout or practice. However, in competitive fields, it may be best to limit consumption and be open and honest about all your health choices.
