{This is a sponsored post written by me for McCormick. I was compensated for my time, however; all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.}
If you’ve met me (or read this blog for any length of time at all), you know baking is not my specialty. Not because I can’t or because I don’t like to bake, but because I don’t always have the time that I’d like to make goodies that do not originate from a box. So, to the dismay of my sweets loving family, I usually end up just not baking. When I do, I look for awesome recipes that are easy, budget friendly, and that everyone will love. So, what holiday treat meets all of those requirements you ask? That’s right, Peppermint Bark! I love the stuff but to tell you the truth I had never made it before. I figured that making something that good had to be way beyond my skill level. McCormick has proven me wrong!
Four ingredients, a bowl, a baking sheet, and twenty minutes is all that’s required for this delicious little treat. And NO OVEN! Yay! All you need to make this super easy Peppermint Bark is:
(1) 12 oz. package of white chocolate chips
(1) Teaspoon McCormick Peppermint Extract
(8) Drops McCormick Red or Green Food Coloring
(1/2) cup crusted peppermint candies (or candy canes)
For the complete McCormick Peppermint Bark recipe or to look up recipes for even more super tasty treats, definitely check out the website. Not only was the Peppermint Bark easy enough for me to make successfully, but it was a HUGE hit with the family. I’m certain I’ll be making it at least a couple more times between now and Christmas.
While I’m sure you know McCormick offers tons of awesome ingredients for your cooking needs, did you realize that at McCormick.com you can also find tons of awesome family friendly recipes that use those fabulous McCormick ingredients? I mean they have everything from main dishes, to sides, appetizers, and of course desserts so you’re certain to find something that will be perfect for any of your needs. They really do make it easy which makes me a happy girl.

December 9, 2013 at 9:45 amI love Peppermint Bark! Each year I tell myself that I will attempt to make a batch for my family but I never get around to it. This seems really simple though and I think I may have to try it for myself this season. Looks delish!

December 9, 2013 at 10:09 amIt was super easy and my son loved that he got to help by crushing all the candies and making a mess on purpose!

December 10, 2013 at 9:42 amThat looks delicious! Do you think you could do that with regular chocolate (not white)?
Found you on the Bloody Marys link up. <3

December 10, 2013 at 11:26 amThanks for stopping by Ashley! Yes I do think you could do it with regular chocolate, you’d probably just have to omit the food coloring since it wouldn’t show up and rely on the crushed candies for the “color” but I bet it would be fabulous – like a mint mocha 🙂 Yum!
