These are totally not something new and unique – they’ve been around forever but I thought I’d share them in case anyone was looking for an awesome holiday treat and heck, I was whipping up a batch anyway. I’d call this a cookie, but I’m not sure it really qualifies as a “cookie” since it only requires two ingredients. These are however some of the tastiest and easiest to make treats I’ve ever come across. If you have 30 minutes, you have more than enough time to make these.
No Bake White Chocolate Haystacks
Yield: 2 Dozen
Ingredients
(2) Bags White Chocolate Chips
(1) Bag Chow Mein Noodles
Directions
Melt chocolate chips in microwave safe bowl – about 4 minutes at 50% power usually does the trick and I generally stir them about every minute until they’re all completely melted.
Once the chocolate chips are melted dump the bag of chow mein noodles in and stir until the noodles are all completely coated. Since it’s Christmas I added a few drops of red food coloring this time as well.
Once your noodles are all coated with chocolate simply scoop your portions out onto a parchment paper lined cookie sheet and place in the refrigerator for about 15-20 minutes or until the chocolate hardens and you’re done.
The beauty of these, beside the fact that they’re quick, easy, and delicious, is that you can make this with so many different variations. Don’t like white chocolate? Use dark or milk chocolate. Maybe you prefer peanut butter or butterscotch…well that’s okay too. I’ve even seen cherry chips in the store – how delicious would that be? You can add some peppermint extract or crushed candy canes to make a chocolate peppermint version if you like. Really there are so many possibilities which makes this a great go to for just about any type of occasion.
