Do Your Boobs Hang Low? A Bra Fit Guide.

July 1, 2015 by Alison 18 Comments

This is not a sponsored post, but I did receive some amazing bra’s from Vanity Fair after speaking with them at the Mom2.0 Summit. All opinions and my love for a comfortable bra are 100% my own.

Let’s talk bras ladies…and comfort. Wait…Did I just say bra and comfort in the same sentence? I can’t remember the last time I actually owned a bra that was truly comfortable, and especially not if it was flattering to my lady lumps. Getting older doesn’t help much in that department either – at a certain point in a ladies life it seems our girls just give up the good fight, admit defeat, and lay down and die. It’s about that point where we decide function trumps fashion.  That is until now…

Let me tell you a little secret that I’ve recently discovered…you can have both. Yes you heard me right ladies, you can have a comfortable, well fitting brassiere, that is pretty and flattering at the same time. The key to this sorcery is the right fit. Until I visited with some of the ladies from Vanity Fair at the Mom2.0 Summit a couple months ago, I had no idea I had been wearing the wrong size bra all this time. I had never had a proper fitting before and now that I have I can’t believe the difference.

I tried a few different styles in my real size from Vanity Fair and while I love them all, my two current favorites are Beauty Back Back Smoother, because really ladies, there are very few of us who can’t use a little smoothing here and there, and this week when temps are breaking 100+ degrees, the Cooling Touch. If you’re looking for fit, function and fashion, Vanity Fair really does have something that will fit the bill. I mean going from a gal that used to fling her boulder holder off as she was walking in the door every day to a girl that’s actually comfortable in my bra at the end of the day, is a pretty big deal.

Have you ever been properly fitted for a bra? Did you notice the difference before and after? What’s your biggest bra gripe or issue? Let me know in the comments below and thanks for reading!

Finding both comfort and support in a bra is SO important! So many women wear the wrong size without even knowing it. Having a proper fitting is vital <3

Haha, I totally think I need this. Mine definitely aren’t as perky as they used to be, although they’re not as bad as my Nana’s….YET.

I’ve never had a bra that fits right, though I’ve even been professionally fitted. Maybe I should try Vanity Fair.

This is going to sound so bad but I’ve never been fitted for a bra – I always just pick up what’s on sale at Steinmart! After reading your post I think I need to rethink this approach though and have a real fitting done!

Awesome tips! Thanks for sharing. A good fit is so important. Wearing the wrong size is so uncomfortable, but for so many people, they don’t even realize it!

I love this post! So many women are wearing bras and swimsuits that are ill-fitting. I had a professional fitting and it changed everything for me. Love the little graphic guide too!

I love Vanity Fair bras. We have an outlet not to far from us. We make a trip up a couple of times a year so I can stock up!

I am loving that picture guide!! Bra fitting has always been kind of a mystery and it seems like it differs from store to store. This is great!

Wow – I’m going to have to check the Vanity Fair bras out. I’ve only bought Victoria Secret for years and maybe it’s time for a change.

I was properly fitted for a bra a long time ago–but since then–oh well-guess I am due for another fitting!

I don’t care what it is, a good fit is a necessary feature of anything I buy. If you skimp on the fit and price you always regret it in the end.

This was such a helpful post! We all think we know the right size/fit but I think many of us would be surprised in the difference if we followed these guidelines!

Haha…I definitely need to be properly fitted. I hate to admit, but I just wear whatever old bra I have lying around that sort of fits. Should probably treat myself to new bras 🙂

God I hate having to wear a bra with a passion, my boobs are far too big. I really need to go and get measured again, thanks for the reminder!

It makes perfect sense to get proper fitting for maximum comfort. Will tell this to my lady friends.
