Christmas is over and while I love the season, I’m always glad when it’s over and I can get back to my “normal” routines and well, get my house back in order. Of course quickly approaching now is New Year’s which is always a time to celebrate. (Like I need an excuse to celebrate right!)
Since we’re celebrating we might as well dress up a little too and that’s where I usually get frustrated. This year I’m going to try and make sure I have a great outfit to ring in the new year planned in advance starting with the dress. I don’t wear dresses very much so when I do it has to be flattering and it has to be comfortable.
Right now I’m trying to decide between this:
Eliza J Women’s 3/4 Sleeve Shift with Sequin Fringe at Hem Black Dress 4
and this kensie Women’s Crepe Chiffon Dress .
The problem I always have with dresses though it chafing. It’s no secret that I’m technically a “plus size” gal, and I have large thighs. I always have. At one time it was becuase they were muscular from sports, now the sports are no longer, but the thighs stayed.
In the past I have worn shorts under my dresses to solve the problem, but that meant that I always had to have relatively long and loose styles. Finally though, someone has come up with a solution to that problem and the solution is called Bandelettes.
These are awesome little lace bands, like a garter but wider that protect those areas prone to chafing. Something so easy and so simple yet they solve a big problem for a lot of ladies. They have definitely made a big difference for me. I used to be pretty much a pants only gal and I’ve actually worn dresses a lot more since I discovered them so Bandelettes are definitely a welcome addition to my accessory drawer.
What’s your biggest wardrobe gripe? Would Bandelettes solve any of your chafing issues and help you be more comfortable?
Thank you to Bandelettes for sponsoring this post. My love for comfortable fashion is 100% my own. This post does contain affiliate links.

December 30, 2015 at 2:19 pmChafing has always been a problem for me. I had never heard of these before and am definitely going to look into trying them out! By the way–I like the black dress with the fringe the best!

January 3, 2016 at 11:56 amThx! I was leaning toward that one too! I think I’m still going to buy it for some event because it’s soo cute, but I ended up being really sick last week and missed New Year’s and basically the whole week entirely…I’m totally planning a re-do lol
