Mother’s Day is quickly approaching so I think it’s time to talk about the amazing moms in my life. It’s no secret that I come from a very blended family which means I have a lot of Mama’s to love and who love me. I consider myself lucky and my kids are extra loved spoiled because that means a lot of grandparents to fawn over them.
But back to all my moms. The way I see it I have about four of them. Of course there’s my amazing bio mom without whom I would not be the strong, successful, sarcastic, and firece gal I am today. I slay and it’s because of the traits that she instilled in me growing up and I can’t imagine not having her in my life.
That being said, there are three more Mama’s that touched my life and helped me be a better me in some way shape or form. My step-mom of course made that list. She has always treated me no different than my sister and my brother (technically step-brother, but family really isn’t really the place for technicallities) and I adore her for that. In all honesty, when I was a snotty tween and teen, I probably wasn’t that great to her because I didn’t realize what an amazing woman I had in her, but I’ve matured since then (most days) and she definitely deserves some recognition.
That still leaves two beautiful women – both of them I’m proud to call my mother-in-law. How does that work you ask? Well you see, I was married before, when I was 21 and I was widowed at 26 and if I’m being candid about the situation, my 1st mother-in-law and I didn’t really get along all that well at first. To be brutally honest it wasn’t until my husband had passed that we learned to forgive and actually love each other so I guess out of bad, some good did result because I adore her and I can’t imagine her not being in my son’s life (or my daughter’s which is an amazing gift because she is the product of my current marriage but family is family no matter how you get there).
Mother-In-Law number two of course is my current (and last) husband’s mom – we don’t always see eye to eye but I think we come pretty close on the things that truly matter. She is a strong and driven woman and I love that she helps to instill that into my own children – with hard work comes reward. She’s always there when we need her and she’s a lady that I’ve come to respect and adore.
Now what do I get all these mom’s of mine for Mother’s Day? Well that’s kind of hard since they’re all very different ladies and not all of them even live in the same state. My solution is 1800Flowers.com. You can choose from some gorgeous flowers that you can match to you special mama’s taste. There are options like this Graceful Gardenia which I love because it will be long lasting and enjoyed for some time.
I also love the Mom’s Tea Party and Springtime Wishes arrangements because they are absolutely stunning arrangements and I love the fact that the vases are actually useful long after the flowers are gone. If you’re in the market for a Mother’s Day gift you may want to give 1800Flowers.com a try – you don’t even have to leave your couch to find the perfect arrangement to express your gratitude.
