You may remember that I started feeding our Boxer something new a couple of months ago. (It’s okay – take a moment and catch up here.) Wellness® CORE’s® nutritional philosophy is rooted in the belief that pets love and thrive on hearty animal proteins and I love that for Mr. Remmington. He’s an active, muscular dog that needs protein and real nutrition, not just fillers that provide little to no nutritional value. With ingredients like beef and salmon, CORE is truly a protein-packed pet food and you can literally see the positive changes – he just looks and acts healthier. His coat is nicer, his digestive issues (aka gas) have improved tremendously, and for that the entire family is thankful! That alone is enough for me to continue keeping Wellness in our home, but there’s so much more to this brand!
Being an animal lover, it’s no surprise that animal rescue is very near and dear to my heart. You never know what I might decide to save on any given day which is why I was so excited to learn that Wellness® is also committed to helping pets in need through it’s WellPet Foundation. During the recent flooding in Louisiana, the Companion Animal Alliance of Baton Rouge (CAABR) took in approximately 650 displaced dogs and cats and during this time, Wellness donated 50,000 pounds of food to CAABR and neighboring shelters. Can you imagine how much that helped those terrified pets and hard working volunteers?
The WellPet Foundation was established in 2007 to support groups whose goals are similar – helping pets live healthier, happier, longer lives and that is a goal I can definitely get behind. WellPet is committed to giving back and they do so by supporting organizations and activities that promote the power of natural nutrition and the benefits of healthy, active lifestyles. Responsibility. Passion. Commitment. These are the words that define the work of the WellPet Foundation to do the very best for the pets that provide us with unconditional love, trust and companionship. That’s pretty amazing and it makes my heart happy to know that I can feed my own animals a diet that keeps them healthy and contributes to helping other animals that are in need. That’s truly a win-win situation right there!
