I love animals. Possibly too much some might say. Our lives are somewhat controlled by them. Vacation planning, even a weekend out of town takes careful pre-planning because when you have more than one or two, you don’t just take them and board them, you have someone at your house. Sometimes I get frustrated because they misbehave (with 5 dogs, there’s sure to be a rebel in the pack), I get tired because like children, someone always needs something, I get worried (because one of the cats is staying out too late and I hear the coyotes); but you know what? I would’t give any of them up because the laughs, loves, and loyalty is worth it.
With as many pets as we have running around, I’m already a pretty loyal PetSmart® shopper. They have it all from puppies and dogs, cats and kittens, reptiles, fish, birds…it’s a one stop shop for any pet owner. I already knew they had a lot of great programs, but PetSmart has announced the launch of its new “Buy a Bag, Give a Meal™” program. For every bag of dog or cat food purchased online and at all its 1,500-plus stores across the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico, the leading pet specialty retailer will donate a meal to a pet in need. The program runs March 1-Dec. 31, 2017, and PetSmart expects to donate more than 60 million meals. That’s a lot of meal for some very deserving animals in need and I could hardly wait to share the news with you!
Our most recent addition to the family is a foster “fail” (which consequently is a big win for us!) His name is Mini Cooper and while he’s cozy and well fed now, there are so many more dogs and cats out there that still need a helping hand until they can find their forever home.

Realistically I can’t take them all (but trust me, I’d try if I could) but programs like this, make my heart happy. I may not be able to take them all into my own home, but by just feeding the ones that do run my life, I’m know that I’m also helping helping those in waiting stay full and that’s a whole let better than feeling helpless.
