Football – it’s one of the most celebrated seasons of the year. Family and friends gather to cheer on their team, and maybe boo the other. It’s all in the name of fun and even when best friends disagree, a good time is had. Not many times in life these days when you can say that, but with football, a little good hearted team rivalry is expected and part of the fun. I’m from Washington State so you can probably guess who my family roots for… (except for one lone Cheesehead…it’s a rough life for him!). Blue and Green all day long!
Also part of the fun? Food. When most people hear that whistle blow, they’re excited for kickoff. But for the home team, or party host in this case, it means a lot more…more preparation, more coordinating, and more time away from watching the actual game with everyone else and nobody wants that. All the cheering, yelling, and fun can certainly work up an appetite though and food isn’t going to prepare itself. When I want to make sure I get to be part of the fun too, I pull out my 5 minute Shrimp Cocktail Dip recipe. A quick trip to Walmart for supplies and I’m ready for game time!
Shrimp Cocktail Dip
Ingredients
Ritz Crackers
Soft Cream Cheese Spread
Bottle of your favorite Cocktail Sauce
Pre-Cooked Salad Shrimp
Directions
Preparing this dip is insanely easy. You can prepare a very large batch in a casserole dish, or you can prepare each individual cracker if you want a bit of a fancier aesthetic. Simply layer the cream cheese first, followed by cocktail sauce, and topped off with one or two salad shrimp and BOOM! You’ve got a killer finger food in about five minutes! Who’s the big winner now?!
Once you throw in an ice cold Coca-Cola to wash it all down, you’re 100% ready to heckle and make memories with family and friends!

This looks great! I can’t eat shrimp anymore (adult-onset allergy) but I may make this for my friends.
